I would not recommend this hotel.||We booked this hotel through Airbnb, and to be clear, this review is not a reflection of the host. ||The room was clean, and the check-in process was smooth. Unfortunately, the hotel itself completely failed us.||Note, the walls are extremely thin. We could clearly hear conversations coming from the neighboring room, which made rest difficult. Nothing to complain about too much, the guests quieted down about 11 pm. ||On previous nights, we noticed the phone in the room next door would ring occasionally. We thought maybe someone was calling the guests, wrong. We noticed that the guests next door had checked out on our last day, we suspect now due to the ringing phone. ||On our final night, the phone started ringing around 11 PM—and continued nonstop through the night. When it first started we thought like any other night it would stop. Around midnight, I contacted security. The young man on duty was kind and tried to help, but he was unable to reach the hotel manager and his manager. He called us back to say that he was able to contact his manager who instructed him not to enter the room and that nothing could be done until hotel staff arrived at 6 AM. ||The ringing continued and I followed up again around 2:30 AM— the security guard still had no luck reaching hotel management. Finally, at 6:40 AM, security called to say he had reached the manager, who was now aware of the issue. The phone finally stopped ringing at 7:03 AM. No resolution, no apology from management —just hours of lost sleep and frustration. If it wasn’t so complicated to get to another hotel we would have left. ||Other issues. The lobby staff was unhelpful and often seemed unsure how to answer simple questions—especially when we inquired about transportation options like taxis. It felt like they were completely unprepared.||The on-site restaurant, Sangria, was another disappointment. I ordered a few burgers and specifically asked for no “special sauce” (a mayo-based spread). I sat at the bar in which you can view the kitchen. While the chef was preparing the food, I saw the sauce being added to the bun. I alerted the waitress, who looked confused and asked another server for help. Eventually, they came back and claimed a new burger had been made—which was absolutely not true. I was sitting right there. Since we had ordered two burgers, my husband took mine, with cheese. The real concern here is that the food was served incorrectly, even after clearly communicating a dietary restriction. Having a serious allergy, this could’ve been dangerous.||I also reached out to the host around 8:45 PM to clarify instructions about returning towels (the check-out instructions weren’t clear on whether it was all towels or just beach towels). I received a response at 2:34 AM, and at 3:00 AM, I replied to the host to inform about the ringing phone issue. Unfortunately, I never received a response to that message.||Other major concerns:|There is nothing within walking distance. Expect to rent a car or pay $7–$10 per person each way for a taxi.||The food is overpriced.||The bar closes at 5 PM, which makes no sense for a resort.||There are no on-site activities or entertainment—none.||The entire property has just one vending machine and one ice machine. There maybe more but we found one. ||Bottom line: while the host did everything right, the hotel failed at nearly every turn. Poor service, lack of responsiveness, and basic guest needs being ignored made this one of the most disappointing stays I’ve ever had. ||I absolutely would not...

I hate to let the cat out of the bag, but a late October vacation here is amazing! This is slow season, but with an average temp of 87 and water temp of 85, why wouldn't you want to go when there's less people? Late October is a pretty save time for the weather too. We are owners and we're supposed to stay here in January of 2017, but 2 major hurricanes made us change our plans due to the resort closing. Soooo glad we made it back here! The resort reopened in Dec of 2020 with all newly updated rooms and facilities. We had a Parlor with a Queen Murphy bed that included a full kitchen and washer and dryer. It was beautiful and perfect for the two of us. Unlike other Wyndham properties that do not have a restaurant on site, this has 2 wonderful restaurants on site and the upscale Caribbean Fish Market is an island favorite. Sangria's Beachside Bistro has breakfast, lunch and dinner until 6p. From 6-8 it's only pizza. Delicious food and great wait staff. Tell Jennifer we said HI!

The staff is very nice and helpful from checking in to assisting with taxies, and things to do on the island. The grounds are well kept and the pool is very nice when you want a break from salt water. Pool stays open until 10p.

As of Oct 2021, the mask policy is you must wear a make into the check in building and into restaurants. Once seated at the restaurant you may remove your mask. You must also wear a mask on all public transportation and in stores while shopping.

We chose not to rent a car and for a week of non-stop going, we spent about $400 on taxies and didn't have to worry about driving on the wrong side of the road. A private taxi coming and going to the airport will cost you $90 one way. If you have no stops in town and just need to get to the resort, you can share a cab for $18 pp. Just have to wait a bit. Our flight home was a 8am flight so a private taxi at 5am we had no choice, $90 for 2 people.

We will be returning and just may make this our yearly late October early...

Beautiful and relaxing we will be going back. My husband and I stayed at the Elysian Beach Resort (Wyndham Feb 28-Mar 5 2016) and had fabulous time. I read the reviews about the resort but we decided to try it for ourselves and I am so glad we did.

The staff was very helpful and pleasant upon arrival and for the duration of our stay. Yes one part of the resort sits on a hill, but the staff came to pick us up at our request to take us to the bottom of the hill, and we even enjoy walking up and down the hill for exercise (ages 54 and 66) it was not a problem at all. Whenever we called the front desk they made themselves available to us. If we needed a cab it was there almost immediately. The rooms are nice and clean at the Wyndham and pretty modern. The beach on the resort is very nice and there are other beaches in St. Thomas that are beautiful as well. The grounds at the resort well kept and very pretty.

One of the dinning facilities on the resort is the Caribbean Fish Market very good food ( do try the (calamari and the mussels yummy) and the ambiance is excellent. There is a young lady who bartenders there name Dakota. What can I say she is the best. Sweetest young lady, her conversations and bar side manners are great. She will recommend what is good, she made a creamy martini for me it was very tasty and she is cute.

There is a gym on the property very clean and the two ladies that were at the front desk were very nice. The young lady that was there on Sunday she was very informative, very kind, she drew us a map of how to get around, and told us all about St. Thomas and the best eating places. She suggested we eat at Mama Lucy's in St. John which is very easy to get to from the resort. Make sure you do the Bath Rock boat tour, it was amazing.

I know this is a pretty long review, but I mean to get my point across, if you are looking for a nice place to stay, relax and have some fun in St. Thomas the Elysian Beach Resort is the...

The resort is a bit out of the way, not really close to anything, but being on an island, not far from anything either. The resort has a nice sandy beach. It’s not the best beach I saw on the island, but still beautiful and quite frankly in much better shape than the Wyndham Margaritaville property elsewhere on the island. The resort features a spacious pool. The hot tub was a fairly normal size. There is a “dive shop” that was basically a kiosk to rent sports equipment or book excursions. They also have a cafe and a fine dining restaurant. I ate at both. The food was good. Not exceptional, but serviceable. There was zero wait, the views from both were fantastic I would eat at both again. We had a bit of a sticker shock when we first ate at the fine dining restaurant, but due to being imported, we later learned that food is just a bit more expensive than what we were accustomed to on the island, even at the grocery store. The resort did not seem overly crowded. There was plenty of seating on the beach and in public areas. I had zero wait at both restaurants. Our room had a full kitchen, washer/dryer and large balcony. We had a partial ocean view from our room. Although it was only a single room, it was spacious for two people. There was a large TV and loveseat, in addition to a dining room table and chairs. The couch folded down and out of the way and the king sized Murphy bed that folded down from the wall was plenty comfortable. It was easy to move the bed out of the way, or to bring it back down when we were ready to sleep. If I had reason to visit St. Thomas again, I would stay at this resort again.

Firstly, the resort staff left a very good impression upon arrival. Would we choose to stay here again……absolutely not! We felt as though we were “catfished” by the photos when we initially booked the resort. We were given a room on the first floor and asked for a higher level and told that nothing was available. Well the first floor is a breeding ground for the super mega blood sucking mosquitoes that will inevitably bite you repeatedly. We used repellent, constantly sprayed, swatted, but it was no match for those mosquitoes. When we went places, we would try to open and close the door as quickly as we possibly could so they would not get in and ultimately, it was a fail! We were not prepared to be sleeping on a Murphy bed. That was not a good experience. The walls were paper thin and we could hear the neighbors cough and fart. The pool and hot tub were great amenities. The beach was a no because of the excessive seaweed and it looked disgusting to step foot into. There are so many other great properties to stay on during your visit to St. Thomas just not the Elysian. The WiFi stopped working for two days which negatively impacted my ability to get work done. Sangria’s…..the female server was horrible and never brought our food. The young man was awesome! Caribbean Fish Market was a decent option to have close by. The lobster was tough, but overall the flavor was good. We would not stay here again even if it were free.
