I hate uncooked kale, to me it's a leafy green, that has a thick weird consistency so it's hard for me to make a salad of it. Cruzan Beach has changed that for me with their kale salad topped with a tasty mango chutney like sauce, toasted coconuts, curried pumpkin seeds, cherry tomatoes and cilantro lime vinaigrette. There is so much deliciousness going on here its so distracting that I don't notice the kale texture. And at $13 and having a nice portioning to it, this is a great healthy lunch deal.
I come to Cruzan for this salad and my hubby on the other hand comes here for the Truffle fries ($8) and lobster quesadillas ($19). Both are insanely good and if you have the kale salad it makes you feel as though all those veggies you ate cancel out the bad stuff in the other two dishes.
A few other munchies to note are the jerk chicken skewers ($9), buffalo chicken tenders ($9) and the hummus plate ($14). These are good options to have with happy hour than runs daily from 5p-7p and serves up drinks that are only $2-$3 each.
So why did this place lose a star? Because service can reaaaaaalllllyyyy slow down here and if you're sitting in the wrong place on the deck you will melt to death. So come with patience, enjoy the beach ocean view, sit near the back of the deck under the shaded like white tarp and if it's mid day order a lot of painkillers or mango...
Read moreA wonderful occasion to dine on the beach with a beautiful sunset view, accompanied by the closest ones, and great foods. Very friendly staffs, lively background musics. it has decent menu with island specials, as well as traditional American favorites. Dishes are infused with island taste. This is a casual yet fine-dining right next to a higher-end establishment. As usual, each member ordered a dish then share together so everyone could taste varieties of selections. The cocktail - Pomegranate Fizz is kicking as one member exuberantly...
Read moreThe food was so-so and expensive. Service was slow and the waitress didn’t really seem to care or want to be there, didn’t check on the table that much, drinks went empty and sat that way for a while. But a neat view of the beach and harbor. And each lemonade refill was a charge ($5) and they didn’t put that on the menu u or tell us when we ordered, just when we asked for a refill. Had gratuity of 20% automatically added, but service was horrible, not worthy of a 20% tip. I usually always tip 20% for good service, more for...
