I have regularly ordered from Harbor Sweets. This Easter I ordered several Easter baskets for my grandchildren. One did not arrive. I called today and spoke to Jennifer. She searched and it had not been sent out. There was an internal error. I explained it was for my four year old grandson and he did not receive his Easter basket. She offered to send one out, but I honestly felt that the customer service lacked empathy and understanding. She stated she would send an apology, but my grandson is four. Maybe an extra chocolate bunny or surprise would have been nice! Something to make him feel special! Instead, when I expressed my disappointment I was asked, “Is there anything else?” I was surprised with the customer service and the lack of Harbor Sweets to try and come up with a creative idea themselves to correct the error. I didn’t feel valued as a customer or that my four year old grandson’s lack of receiving an Easter basket mattered. A small gesture on Jennifer’s part could have made the difference.    Read moreI bought 4 boxes of Harbor Sweets at Home Goods--60 piece boxes. I gave one to someone. He opened the box and let us have some. The shell was horrible and left a terrible taste in my and my daughter's mouths. I had read that the sailboat or schooner was their specialty, so we quickly ate one of those. It was better and took the horrible taste of the shell out of our mouths. I returned the other three boxes to Home Goods the next day. Maybe the chocolates at the store location are better rather than the mass-produced boxes sold in stores. I can't say because I haven't been to the store in Salem. But it's hard to make chocolate go so wrong as those shells. I don't think I've ever returned chocolate before. Sorry to be so negative but it was a terrible experience. Am somewhat embarrassed that I gave that one...
Read moreHarbor Sweets is my favorite chocolate store in the world. I've tried tons of Chocolate in the US, Switzerland and Italy and I have to say that this is the best. They offer a variety of unique chocolates that are all homemade here at their factory/store in small batches. They have big windows so that you can see the chocolate being made. The chocolate is a bit pricey, but totally worth it. If you ever visit Salem this is a must go spot. They sell their chocolate at other locations as well like Shubies in Marblehead and they have an online store. If their chocolate is too pricey for you, you can wait for post-holiday sales where they'll give you ~20-30% off. Try ANY of their chocolates, they're all amazing, I've never had one that I...
