Overall it’s a pretty nice atmosphere for hanging out, having a coffee, chatting with friends and working on computer. But it’s a ripoff. While the food is not bad tasting, reasonably fresh and the place is clean and fun seeming- it’s a ripoff. I ordered a bagel with avocado. Adding the avocado brought this from two dollars and something to six dollars. It seemed expensive but whatever. Several minutes later, the woman preparing food, called my name and told me that there was no avocado left. I didn’t really want anything else on the bagel so I asked for a refund for the four dollars; she looked at me and said oh you want a refund? She obviously had no idea how to help me. I walked over to the woman working at the register and explained the situation and asked her for a refund. She told me that she could not give me a refund without texting her boss and that they usually just swap in something else. I explained that I did not want anything else and that she should text her boss. the rest of my food arrived: $10 Caesar salad, which was nothing more than lettuce croutons and a little cheese sprinkled on it. it was a really small portion and I continued to feel ripped off. Please look at the pictures and judge for yourself. The cashier never came over to me to tell me if I was getting a refund or follow up in any way and I just left. A sidenote, this place is incredibly not conscious about the amount environment. even though I told them I was eating in, everything is wrapped in tons of paper, includes lots of plastic, and bags that are completely unnecessary.

Absolutely Fantastic! Jaho Coffee Roaster & Bakery in Salem is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the warmest atmosphere and the delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The baristas are incredibly friendly and know their craft, always offering expert recommendations based on your preferences. I tried their signature drink, and it was perfection—smooth, rich, and the perfect balance of flavors. They use high-quality beans that are expertly roasted, making every sip a joy. The pastries are also a must-try, fresh and flaky, with a variety of options to satisfy any craving. What I love most about Jaho is its cozy, inviting ambiance. Whether you're there to work, relax, or catch up with friends, it's the ideal spot. The interior is stylish, yet comfortable, with a great mix of modern and rustic touches that make it feel like home. If you're in Salem and looking for the best coffee experience, Jaho Coffee Shop should be at the top of your list. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

We placed our order at 5:32 PM and after asking a couple of times, we finally got it 15 minutes later and no, no one else was waiting for an order. I got a flat white, it was luke warm and tasted a little sour. Not great. My husband had a milk tea with boba and the boba was chewy and disgusting. At $18 for two drinks, not worth it at all. This was our first and most likely our last time here. It’s too bad because it’s a cute place and we really wanted to like it. My husband wanted me to add that it seems like a great place for the idle class (both customers and employees) to hang out. Update: management team reached out to me to discuss my experience. They tried to make it right which I greatly appreciated. I will give them another try.

Since Jaho opened in Salem, I have been visiting the pickering wharf location when in town. Always great service, pastries are tasty and fresh. Upon seeing the Canal St store, I was happy to bring my mother for afternoon coffee as there is parking. Unfortunately, everything from entering the location to the food was disappointing. Store tables were either with customers or DIRTY. The trash barrels were full to the brim. This was @ 3pm, it was not very busy. We were confused by the different sections for food that is separated by the coffee machine. Not one employee greeted us, even when we were walking around the food cases. The large me ORDER HERE screens looked to be the only place to order. The items we were looking to get were not listed on the touchscreens. So we opted for food we could find in the self service kiosk. The apple pie like pastry was NOTHING like the photo and the flan tasted off. We were never greeted, only had our name called by a girl behind the espresso machine. Who by the way called it more than once while I was standing there. There is no signage where to pick up items, when we left the store was almost empty and still not one employee had gone around and wiped down a table or empty trash that was at that point over flowing. For the almost $30 for 2 coffees and 2 pastries I was very disappointed. We will continue to visit the Pickering location in the future, but hope you didn't go too big too fast and sacrifice the personable workers and great food for...

I stopped by here with my family during our vacation to Salem because I saw they had vegan options for my mother. Upon entering, one of the women who had a Hispanic accent was giving my mother extremely dirty looks and was extremely rude to her. Visibly upset, I reassured my mom that the woman was probably having bad day (not that it makes it okay). While we waited for the order, my mother and stepdad went across the street to clean our laundry at the laundromat and asked me to pick up the order when it was done while they check on the clothes. In my experience, most coffee places will have an order number or a name to call, but the woman was just calling out the sandwich. Since I was expecting a name or number and didn't see what my family ordered, I simply asked if the name on the order was under our name (and gave her the name). She repeated the sandwich ingredients to which I replied, "I'm sorry, I didn't catch what he ordered but it should be under this name." She looked at me like I was stupid and laughed at me when I turned around. After getting the drink and sandwich, I asked if that was everything on the order to which she acted like she didn't understand me and responded with an extremely rude attitude. The other employees seemed nice, but because of this particular employee my family and I will never...
