9th Realm Gallery — Local services in Salem

This was my first time in the studio, and I can say without reservation that 9th Realm Gallery is the single nicest, cleanest, most inviting studio I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. I worked with Carly because I loved her creative illustrative style and the sense of momentum in her work. We had a brief consultation where she matched my excitement, was clear and thorough about the process, timing, and expectations. Day-of, the young lady at the front desk (whose name I did not get) was awesome, checked on me on an hourly basis to see if I needed anything. Carly was awesome and so much fun to chat with throughout our five + hour session. Her work speaks for itself, and plenty of artists of her skill level could absolutely carve you up and get away with it, but she thoughtfully and carefully staggers work, uses clever techniques to manage pain, and checks in to make a very complex tattoo feel absolutely attainable in a single session.

Other artists were buzzing around, including Gabe, Sean, and Jess. I saw their work as well (unsurprisingly brilliant) but they were all so nice and the fact that I remember their names at all even though they weren't the ones stabbing me shows how much care and thought they put into making sure I, not their client, was having a good time. Gabe has some great aftercare recommendations and even offered to help me the next day if I needed help reapplying Saniderm since Carly would be out.

I was visiting Salem for the first time and wanted to get a tattoo as a souvenir. I am so glad I chose 9th Realm! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and seemed to share my excitement for my tattoo. I’m not just extremely happy with my tattoo, I was extremely happy with my artist, Casey, and how she treated my friend and I during our appointments. She was kind, friendly, gave good recommendations, made sure we were taken care of by offering us food, drinks, heating pads, hand warmers, etc. she is very very great at what she does. She shows a lot of pride in her work and wants to do the best because you will have that tattoo forever, which is very much appreciated. The pricing is appropriate, the atmosphere is wonderful, beautiful, unique and clean. Many cool oddities to see in the shop. I could keep on talking about it but I probably only have so much space in this review. But I 100% recommend 9th Realm, as well as Casey Trevino and will be going back to her the next time I go to Salem. :) thanks so much Casey, I love my snail Mr....

Absolutely would recommend! I'm from Florida & came up to Salem for a girls trip. I got extremely lucky that Carly was able to take me as a walk in, as usually this is an appointment only shop. It had been about twenty years from my last tattoo - I was nervous. However after about 10 minutes in the lounge area I was quickly put at ease. Carly was amazing - we had chat I showed her a couple ideas of what I was looking for & explained a little bit about myself & she got exactly what I was going for. I absolutely love my tattoo which in on the top of my foot. While she was in the design phase one of the owners helped do my intake form & we had a great conversation she really put me at ease. The shop itself was clean, beautifully decorted & well maintained. Everyone there was nice, cool relaxed it was a totally different vibe from when I was younger.The entire experience made fall back in love with tattoos.
