I made a room reservation on Friday, April 1 2022. I specifically requested a king size bed with a pull out couch and made sure one was available when making my specific reservation. I was assured by the voice on the other end of the line that there was one and quickly booked the room with my discover card. I let the lady know that I would be a late check in as I was driving from Las Vegas Nevada into Salt Lake City Utah with my son who is in a power wheelchair for a doctor's appointment on Tuesday afternoon. I explain to them that I needed the room as a king size because when there are two queens in a room there's nowhere to park the wheelchair comfortably inside the room I would be forced to place the wheelchair in the bathroom and then have to climb over top of it to use the bathroom. I don't generally book handicap accessible rooms unless I'm staying for more than two nights because the only thing accessible is usually just the shower. I was assured that she understood and at the room was available. Fast forward to last night when I came in with my son and my very tired husband who drove eight hours to Salt Lake to get our room when we went upstairs we were given a room with two queens. I went back downstairs and tried to inform the blonde women who could not even be bothered to Leave the large Utility room to the right side of the guest counter, that she have me the wrong room by mistake. She said to me " i formed them that we have No handicapped accessible rooms" i said who is "them" she said the third party booking company you used when you booked your reservation. I said first of all, I didn't reserve a room with anyone third party, i called personally to this hotel from my phone and booked we did NOT book a handicap accessible room (super grose in her assumption and what hotel don't offer accessible rooms, her Abel -ism and poor customer service skills were proudly on display this night) she then proceeded to tell me she doesn't know who I booked with or what happened but all the rooms are exactly the same. If all the rooms are exactly the same how was what I booked available the day I booked it?
(Here's What i think happened: no one placed any notes about my late check in and gave my room reservation away, and then turned me and my family away without refund or option/resource at 1am. We are not local and have a disabled child, we were forced to drive around hotel to hotel until 2:30am until we found one what works for my sons Comfortability)
the point is moot, the room was available when i called Friday, when i got here it wasn't available or suddenly never existed, obviously the room given was not going to work for us so I requested a refund. She replied as a manager is not available and I would have to deal with it in the morning. I then told her I was not requesting a manager but will kindly like her to refund the charges placed on the room as we would not be staying and she then said that she was not able to refund my money because the system was down. I called again this morning and spoke to a very professional young lady who informed me you were still not available. My options where to email or call back at 2. I got back to them at 4:00 i had too keep calling bc the line would ring and get dropped. Finally I was told to get a refund in 7-10 business days. That's it. Nothing for my inconvenience nothing about the discrimination and disrespect. Nothing about being driving 8 hrs to be turned away with a special needs child at 1am... im disgusted. I will be telling 2 disability community's and yelp anyone who ask for a hotel Recommendation....
Read moreClean, but in my room there were three maintenance/housekeeping issues. A fluorescent light that wouldn't turn on but flickered incessantly, an on the wall soap dispenser cover that fell off because the bathroom door was opened, and a shower control handle that was not attached to the faucet. First the soap dispenser, I easily properly reattached the cover to the dispenser and there were no issues after the first time I opened the bathroom door, a minor issue except that either housekeeping did not check the dispenser and a guest had improperly put the cover on or housekeeping didn't know what they were doing. Secondly the flickering fluorescent light, this was located above one of the beds on a three-way switch so that when I walked into the room and turned on the switch by the door the fixture was activated and immediately went into flickering. I don't see how housekeeping could have not noticed this as they would have been the last person in the room with lights on. Thirdly the shower has one of those controls that has a single handle, the control had been set onto the square metal of the faucet but the set screw was in no way engaged. I touched the handle and it fell into the bath it had to be carefully placed in that position prior to my arrival, again I'm assuming housekeeping set it into that position as a guest would have left the room and housekeeping would have come in and cleaned the shower. Perhaps housekeeping was aware of the shower and the light and they've passed it to maintenance who failed but somewhere at this location is a failure to communicate within departments. Again all three of these things were extremely minor however given the overall vibe of the property I would not recommend that anyone stay here as I believe the chance is better than not that other things can be wrong either through inattention...
Read moreWe survived a four night stay here, and are grateful that we at least had a roof over our head and clean beds. We were initially assigned room 210, but the tv only had 1 working channel and was cartoons, after several attempts, it was unable to be repaired. We were then offered room 314, but fortunately asked to inspect it prior to moving rooms. The odor of smoke, and/or mold was overpowering and we declined. Next we were offered room 236, which was acceptable, even though the smoke detector in the ceiling was open, and lacked a battery. Thank goodness no fires... We were asked to leave room 210 "as we found it, as it would be re rented and some people don't watch tv." Upon return every evening we had to re-key our room keys as they did not work and we ensured they were in a separate place in our pocket and bag not to de-magnatize them. The hotel has plug in deodorizers in the hall to mask a lot of odors, but can be overpowering with the fake smell. The toast and waffles were acceptable, at the Continental breakfast, and the hostess kept the other items well stocked. Family or friends of the morning desk clerk, Danny, came in daily for free breakfast two days in a row, and left with complimentary items from the freezer and sodas given by Danny (that the hotel guests have to pay for.) There is a complimentary hotel shuttle to and from the airport, by advance reservation, however the hours are limited for mid-day arrivals/departures. This hotel is located about 12 min from downtown by vehicle. Keep in mind there is no restaurants within walking distance, but you can order from door dash...
