Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Antonio near Frost Bank Ctr — Hotel in San Antonio

The hotel is very conveniently located to the venue that we came for and it is clean inside. I noticed two awards at the front desk so I had high hopes. I arrived after sunset and completed check in online so it was a quicker check in than most.||||Pro’s:||||- Convenient location||- Clean||- Friendly staff||- Quiet (except for the occasional small barking dog)||- Easy check in and out||- Well lit rear parking lot||||||Cons:||||- Really bad feral cat problem (probably cheaper than traps to keep rats away)||- Pool looked brownish green in color and would be full after 4 people were in it. I was afraid the kid would come out with a fungus if I let my little in it. ||- very disappointing breakfast. Was really looking forward to the biscuits and gravy but it was more like biscuits and milk because the gravy was so watered down and runny. Eggs were those fake eggs but the tortillas were good.||- Security door to the back didn’t secure, my kindergartener opened it when we first arrived by simply pulling on it so anyone can enter the hotel from the rear. ||- If you agree to stay here you have to sign a paper at check in which embedded in it states that you agree to receiving spamming emails from the company with no way to opt out at that time. You must wait until after your stay and request and collect a copy of the form you sign to stay there and call an 800 number on the form and request to opt out. (Not sure how hard that is going to be or how much time that is going to take)||- there are no dressers for your clothing, only open cubbies under the television set … I expected more value @ $150/night taxes included.||- bring a cooler and fill with ice, the refrigerators are barely work, (I checked with other members of our group to make sure it wasn’t just ours) and the super small embedded doorless freezer is even worse. It took 2 days to cool down water and drinks on the coldest setting. ||||||I was very disappointed in this stay. We chose this hotel because other members of our party have been using this hotel for years but even they mentioned at breakfast at the restaurant we went to after the first morning that they believe it has slowly been going down over the years. Overall I say about a 2 star experience based on location and cleanliness of the facility. It may be a good option for some but I guess I’ve been spoiled by Holiday Inn Express … that is a better choice...

We absolutely loved every aspect of our stay! The staff were so lovely, cheerful, knowledgeable and attentive. We absolutely loved Walter at the front desk as well as the other front desk people (sorry I didn't get their names ). The staff was always cleaning the lobby (it rained a lot during our stay). The location is great because it's right outside a neighborhood so there is an HEB, dollar tree, 99 cent store, burger King, popeyes, churches chicken, McDonald's, subway, pizza hut, a gas station with a Laredo taco and a smoke shop all within a 1-10 mile radius so everything is super quick and easy to get to. Whenever we go back to San Antonio we will definitely be staying here again. UPDATE OCTOBER 2024 Everything was so absolutely amazing! The rooms were clean and the a/c worked great. The room was so spacious with 2 queen beds then a fold out bed/sofa in nook between the restroom and the bed area, it's great. The pool was so clean, we went multiple times throught our stay and it was pristine every time. There are towels ready and folded for when you come out the pool and the elevator is right around that corner. My family and I loved how close everything is to the hotel, like literally anything you want or need is within like 10-15 mile radius. You name it it's there, a mcdonalds, popeyes, Starbucks, dollar tree and heb, a vape shop within a 5 mile radius then there's a Walmart, dennys,wendys,taco bell, kfc, wings top within 10 miles. It boggles my mind how conveniently located this hotel is. Then aside from the convenience of the location the staff are so friendly, welcoming and super accommodating. Throughout the evening and night I would look out the window and see Walter or yosh walking around the grounds with a flash light every single night and that made me feel safe, it really put some of my worries at ease, I really really appreciated that. We loved all the staff (especially Walter😀 ) every single person we interacted with while we were there was just so absolutely amazing, friendly and accommodating. Like I said in my review last year, "we will be back next year" again, so we'll see yall...

Good location, close to everything but right next to the hood. We stayed on the 1st floor. Thin walls my children had to endure the folks upstairs having sex all night & we even had the TV turned up. 1st room they put us in had dried food stuck to the bed sheets, food behind the beds (found during my bed bug inspection) very dusty & smelled like smoke. Management was very accommodating & quickly moved us to another room, which was actually worse lol. Sheets had stringy hair & those faint mold spots from being in the washer to long they needed BLEACH! i bought sleeping bags from walmart we slept on top of the beds. Room service never changed our sheets the entire stay. There was no do not disturb signs for the door. Pillow cases were dirty too. Super filthy floors (our socks indicated that), rusted lamps & dusty surfaces. Moldy Curtains by the air conditioning unit. Mold all in the tub. Missing or broken tiles in bathroom, Doors are bowed so they barely closed. Tub handle was broken controlling water temp was challenging. Breakfast was whack buscuits were hard couldn’t even cut them with a fork. Eggs were cold & sausage was under cooked. It’s a franchised location so you are getting what you pay for. They need to step up their house cleaning a lot. If you’re a person who values cleaniless this is not the hotel for you. Pay a little more & go to a real Wyndham for a better experience. Front desk folks were nice we only stayed bc we were out of the room most of the trip & literally just showered & slept there for a few hours a night. Perks were a fridge, microwave & a decent flat screen tv. Internet pictures are deceiving. Will not stay at this...
