I rented 2 rooms one for myself and one for family members. We checked in late at 8pm on Sunday July 3rd and went to have dinner right after dropping our luggage in our rooms. When we came back and were getting ready to settle and go to bed my guest in room 216 came to my room I was staying in room 218 scared out of their wits. They had found bed bugs on their bed!!! They didn't even look around the bed the bed bugs fell from the bed sheets as they were lifting them from the bed. We immediately checked our room and we did not see any in our room 218. We called the front desk and a gentleman by the name of Phillip answered the phone. When we told him the issue he did not act surprise it sounded as if he had previous knowledge of this. His words were" I'm sorry about that." I said that's it can you please give us another room? He said "no all our rooms are gone we have nothing." I said well what can you do for us we can’t stay in that room and he very rudely said "Well you can check out” This was at midnight I was surprised by the tone of his voice and his uncaring nature. I then said well can you please refund me the cost of the room so that at midnight we can go look for another hotel room. He said he couldn't help me I was going to have to take it up with management the next morning. I then said ok what are we supposed to do we can NOT stay in a bedbug infested room we took pictures of them. He again very rudely said “That’s fine you can check out" and hung up the phone on me. We did in fact check out turned in the room key and went out at that time to look for another room. I was so embarrassed with my family, and the attitude and lack of concern from the front desk made it even worse. My family were terrified that they might have gotten bed bugs in their luggage that was on that bed and that they would take them home. We had to go buy black plastic trash bags to put all their belongings in until they could return back home and wash everything. The next morning I saw several staff checking the room when I went to check out and asked for the manager a lady came out when I told her who I was and that i was requesting a refund for a room that was not occupied because of the bed bug infestation. She said she was only the room key manager and that she would have the hotel manager contact me. To this day i have not received a call nor a refund for that room. And also the AC in my room 218 did not work the temperature in that room was never below 76*. Over all a...
Read moreI recently spent over three months at this hotel during a project that required temporary relocation to the area and I was very grateful for the lengths the staff went to make me feel comfortable and the level of respect they had for my privacy. Imagine hotel staff that actually honor the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door. I truly appreciated the courtesy they showed and for the rate I paid I couldn't have expected anything more.
Unfortunately the local law enforcement mistakenly believed my trailer was stolen property-even though I had just bought it a month earlier, and will not return my phone calls or respond to my many efforts to have my property returned. During my stay I lost hundreds of dollars worth of clothing (after leaving laundry unattended in the 20 year old washing machine or drier), a $500 mobile phone, and the tailgate off of my truck. And after having the local PD threaten to take me to jail if I didn't hand over my trailer they claimed was stolen I was understandably reluctant to file any police reports. I cant blame all of my trouble in San Antonio on the Econo Lodge but after spending $6000 at their hotel and losing an equal amount to theft, you can imagine my surprise when I was only given a little more than 30,000 in rewards points (I have it figured based on the points I was allotted that 10,000 points equals roughly 30 days or $2000 spent and translates to a measly $100). Oh and I consistently spotted small bugs of an extensive variety both inside and outside the room. I never went near the pool so no comment there.
On a side note I returned home to find the travel trailer I bought and placed on the property my mother left me shortly after her passing had been stolen. I put the trailer there after losing my home and everything in it to a fire accidentally started while I was visiting my grandparents.

Read moreOur motel room showed signs of being a crime scene at some point in the not so distant past. The door mounting was hanging on the outside of the door, the chair legs were bent in a way that only happens when it is thrown and hits something or someone hard. The cable outlet was hanging from the wall and there were stains of what may have been blood at one time.
The comforter had multiple cigarette burns and the room smelled of cigarette smoke. Not old smoke, but recent, like within the last month. We were afraid we would find bed bugs, so we just didn't look.
The bathroom was so tiny that my fiancee hit my knee with the door as I sat on the toilet. He then had to essentially climb over me to get into the shower. There was black mold on the wall that I saw and was thankful he avoided as he got in the shower.
As we prepared to go to the Alamobowl, a roach crawled across the dresser. I was done at this point, but since we pre-paid, we would still have paid, so we stayed.
After the game, we returned to loud people in other rooms. My fiancee googled the odd work truck outside when we saw a young girl with an older gentleman. The truck's website was in a language other than English, Spanish, French, German or Italian. It had no option to translate to English.
We slept, I use this term loosely, with one eye open because we kept hearing unsettling noises and we truly didn't trust the chain on the door. As we settled, I use this term loosely, another roach crawled up the wall. We left...
