First off, let me apologize for the rather long review…..but I feel it’s necessary to make an honest and accurate review to expose places that need exposing. A lot of people seem to get away with being mediocre and it needs to be corrected. At least that’s my opinion. You’re welcome to form your own opinions. I’m not usually one to complain, but this hotel is not IHG material. Upon first impression, there was garbage on the left side of the front part of the hotel all over the lawn. The first actual day we were there, I noticed dogs reaching and pulling trash out of the garbage receptacle so I alerted the front desk. The lady seemed concerned about it, and immediately came out to try and take care of it. Saturday morning, breakfast was good and everything was ready as far as food being constantly replenished. Yesterday, the second day, which was Sunday morning I noticed the breakfast attendant constantly running out of food and taking more than half an hour to replace it. She didn’t seem concerned about the customers’ needs. Sunday night which was yesterday, again there were two dogs taking stuff out of the garbage. A German Shepherd and a pitbull. I alerted the night auditor and she said she would take care of it. So the dogs taking stuff out of the trash problem is something that seems to be out of their hands because they still haven’t taken care of it. The third day, which was this morning I took photos of the lawn again so these are the photos I’m posting. And the breakfast attendant was having the same problems as yesterday. In addition, the ice machine on the first floor is still broken. I say this because I noticed other reviews from three months ago that voiced concerns about the ice machine on the first floor being broken. And the musty smell throughout the hallways of the hotel. The statuses haven’t changed. They say an establishment is only as strong as its weakest link and it also reflects on the leadership, so I would say they definitely need a new manager or this one needs to be re-trained. Imagine….having a place in disrepair and still finding the time to sit in an office comfortably. A hotel needs a strong manager, not a queen, in order to maintain the best ratings based on satisfied guests. I knew a really good manager, but the owners were just terrible people. He did an awesome job and was a strong manager. But he refused to be their puppet so they found a way to get rid of him. He was the type of manager who would stop what he was doing to help some of the employees if they were shorthanded. No job was too clean or too dirty for him. But they removed him from employment because he wouldn’t fire certain people that they wanted him to fire. But why would a good manager get rid of a good employee who was never running late nor had problems with attendance? That’s the type of GM this hotel needs. So in conclusion, everything was not great nor do I think I would return to this location any time soon.

The biggest issue I had with this hotel was the room. The first thing was that I let the water run for a full 20 minutes to try and get some hot water for a shower. It never came before I just gave up and showered, the water per a thermoeter never got about 95 degrees but stayed mostly at 90 degrees. There was mold in several places of the room as well well as dry rot on several of the door frames. The door never actually closed (you had to lock it to keep it secure) it was literally able to be pushed open. As well. Breakfast was okay and staff was nice enough. I do not come to san antonio enough to be disappointed like this. I will not stay here nor reccommend this location.

We stayed here one night. We had our 5lb dog with us that they were completely aware of. It clearly says pets welcome here so they need to change that because apparently they’re not welcome. Weeks after our stay we were charged $250 for a “pet” fee bc they said our dog barked at staff. We were not told of anything about this or we would have simply left. Instead we were just scammed out of $250! Don’t go here, especially if you have a fur baby & don’t want to pay $250 because they will not tell you pets are NOT allowed when you arrive they will just let you stay and accuse your dog of barking at them so they can get an extra $250 lol.

This property is conveniently located and easy to get to as it is right off of main highways/roads. However, the noise from such roads is easily heard inside the guest room we had. You can also hear any general noise from surrounding rooms (on the same floor and from the floor above). There was another guest who decided to blast extremely loud music at 4:30 a.m. - it went on for at least 3-4 songs before it stopped.

The room was comfortable and clean overall. We did not like the way the bathroom door opened into the area by the frig and micro, and the door swung shut automatically. Since there was not an exhaust fan in the bathroom, we had to prop the door after taking showers.

The micro and frig both worked well. And the shower also worked well, and we had plenty of hot water. The in shower shampoo/conditioner/body wash were very nice. It was also good to have a black towel for make-up removal.

Breakfast was a downer - there was barely any food available on either of the mornings we tried to eat. The second time (Monday morning) there were fresh cinnamon rolls, but on Saturday, there were virtually zero food options. Was able to get plenty of coffee, milk and juice both mornings.

Trash cans in the food area and outside in the parking lot always seemed to be full/overflowing. I know they are experiencing staffing shortages; however, it only takes a moment to change trash, and that, in my opinion, should be a priority.

I assume some of the negatives we encountered were directly related to the staff shortage, which is an issue currently shared by nearly every business. Since we had a decent stay, I would stay here again and would recommend the property to others, with just a...

This place is highly unprofessional and unorganized, it’s insane. We booked a room 2 months in advance, only to arrive and find that our room was incorrect and they just basically waited to see if we noticed. We were not offered a refund per the difference of the room they put us in VS. the one we paid for (which was a significant difference). We then were offered a handicap room, which we accepted because at this point we needed somewhere to sleep at least for the night because we were running out of options being 16 hours away from home, then the lady told us she couldn’t give us that room because people had it booked for the next day and it was locked in the system…. ( why wasn’t our room locked in the system where others couldn’t book it considering we booked 2 months in advance.) We tried every possible option. We were told we wouldn’t be charged a cancellation fee because it was their mistake, only to find out the next day we were being charged over $100 because we OPENED THE DOOR to the room…. How else would we have known it wasn’t the right room? We never entered the room at all. The worker was in the elevator on our way down to the lobby talking about how her boyfriend was shot and the other worker was cussing. Their lobby was disgusting and bugs were flying around everywhere while we were trying to find another hotel late at night. It was the most awful experience I’ve ever had. The women over the hotel was even unprofessional. I do not recommend this place at all; tru by Hilton was HUNDREDS cheaper and SO much nicer and so clean! Take your business else where and don’t waste your time with these degenerates. The room was...
