i'm always looking for a good chinese restaurant & saw this gem on my fyp so went to try it out today. The food was reasonably priced, they gave a good amount of portions & it had flavor. 📍9804 Roosevelt Ave, San Antonio, TX 78214 ##foodie##lunch##fastfood##relatable

I ordered 2 lunch plates thinking I'd eat one for lunch and one for dinner, but ended up eating most of both for lunch, and letting someone else try some of each. I ordered the Mongolian beef & the general chicken. The lunch plates are a bit on the small side compared to other places. Lets start with the Mongolian beef. It was a bit salty, the pieces of meat were small, and the majority of the plate was either the grilled onions or the fried rice. While it had decent flavor, and wasn't bad, the portion size was a bit small, and the majority of the plate was rice and onions. The lunch plate came with an egg roll or crab rangoon, I got the eggroll with this one. The eggroll was decent, but nothing really different. Next is the general chicken, which was better in my opinion. It was very tender, the chicken meat didnt taste gamey like some places, and appeared to be decent quality. The batter wasnt crunchy, a little soggy from the sauce but overall was pretty good. The sauce had decent flavor, not very spicy, and was more sweet with a little spice. The serving had a few pieces of onion, bell pepper and carrot, but again the portion was a bit small. Maybe 6-7 pieces of chicken, and 4 small pieces of vegetables. I got the crab rangoon with this plate, and it while it was decent, and had good flavor, again it was not anything but average.

Easily the nastiest place if ever eaten. My chicken tasted like it was mixed with shrimp. The fried rice was far from what you would imagine . The “fried” dumplings were practically raw and it just looked so unappealing. It was super disappointing. I was genuinely going to just take my L and not complain until I bit down a piece of metal. I called to ask for a refund and the manager already had an attitude. He told me to send him pictures of what I bit on and he’ll look into it. Pictures don’t do it justice to be complete honest. Once he realized I wasn’t trying to get a refund for no reason he had someone else call me back to let me know I could get a credit and they were sorry…. A credit ? Not a fresh meal or my money back ? On top of that , he had someone else call me . He didn’t reach out himself. Unprofessional. I politely declined the credit and asked for my money back … mind you , I spent $50 for my family … I received $10 bucks. It’s unfortunate I have to leave at least 1 star.

At La Fondita China, the beef and broccoli dish is a standard offering that fits well within expectations for such a classic. The beef is tender enough, paired with broccoli that maintains a nice crunch. The sauce, while a tad on the mild side, is savory with a hint of sweetness, coating the beef and broccoli evenly. It’s a reliable choice for those who favor familiar flavors. Although it won't wow you with innovation or exceptional flair, it holds its own as a solid, if not spectacular, menu item. Ideal for a quick, satisfying meal without venturing too far from the...
