Great new place to stay. All staff were friendly and happy hour is Monday thru Friday. They had free shiner amber beer, several wines, pizza, cheese, nachos just enough to snack on when you come off the road after a 5 and a half hour trip from Houston. After 2 beers and some snacks we slept so good. Rooms are super clean and well laid out with plenty of storage, a huge TV and a bathroom full of clean towels. Full size ironing board and I forgot to mention that there were snacks available for purchase, including chips (4 varieties of Mrs. Vickies), frozen pizza and cheesburgers, cakes, sodas, beer, candy and I believe I remember some toiletries were available also. The rooms have a full size fridge and microwave and are set up with plates, cups for coffee, bowels perfect for cereal and silverware. If all this is not enough in the same parking lot within walking distance there is an Olive Garden next door along with a new Starbucks and next to that in the same parking lot is a Denny's with a drive thru which was awesome!!! Walmart and Dollar stores are also close by and the Basillica and museum with the European stained glass windows are on the next street down. They also include breakfast but I am not a big fan of previously frozen egg products but there was coffee, juice, pastries, bagels, waffles, cereal and fresh fruit which will satisfy most people. Also they have the most interesting outdoor set up I have ever seen and it is a super cool feature with plenty of outdoor seating, lighting and fireplaces. It really draws you in and makes you feel at home. Such a cool, comfortable, family friendly and hang out with your buddies type of vibe. All in all in my book a 10 out 10 for Cleanliness - 10 Cool vibe - 11 Friendly staff - 10 Snack selection - 10 Proximity to venues and restaraunts - 10 Ambience - 11
If you are looking for a clean, friendly place to stay with great ambience that's close to almost everything. I cannot reccomend any hotel better than this one. Read moreOur experience was great the first night, the second night when we go into the pool we were playing volleyball and the volleyball went out of the pool and it hit a little kid but the kid didnt even flinch cry or anything we kindly apologized and tried moving further away, come to find out the mom of the child was the receptionist named Amanda and im assuming she was off the clock, she called the front desk and reported us just blantanly lying saying we had hit multiple people when it had just been the one incident, which i understand why she would be upset but we apologized and tried to be as polite as possible there was no need to report us, I dont know if she was on a power trip or what because later she left and everything was fine we stopped playing volleyball to avoid any other accidents and started playing marco polo, like i said everything went back to normal and we continued playing, about an hour or so later she comes back and not even 10 minutes later after she came back the receptionist on duty comes and tells us to quiet down because she was getting noise complaints… its a SWIMMING POOL the swimming pools are there to have fun, but somehow there was no problem when Amandas children were screaming and playing and DIVING in the pool, so why would it be a problem when we are just playing, again i dont know if she was on a power trip because she works there or what but if this is how she acts when shes off her shift i can only imagine how she is when shes on her shift, it honestly made us EXTREMELY uncomfortable to the point where we decided to just call it night. It was supposed to be a nice little vacay and she made our last night unbearable, dont know if we’ll be coming back or recommending this...
Read moreVery unprofessional. I reserved a room with two beds on July 10. On July 18, I called to tell them that I could not check in until after 10. pm. Perla answered the phone and said she would make a note of it. When I arrived at 11:30 pm, Ms. Elizabeth gave me a one-bedroom. I told her that I had reserved a two-bedroom. She said she did not know what happened and that all she could do was give me a one-bedroom and switch me to a two-bedroom the next day. I told her that I needed a two-bedroom and I could not stay. By this time, it was after midnight. Ms. Elizabeth told me to call Expedia so they can call the hotel and refund me. I told her to give me a recipt and she said there was nothing to give me, just to call Expedia. I left to another hotel, the next day I called Expedia and when they called the hotel, they told them that he needed to talk to the manager and to call back after 9 am. I went by the hotel around 9:45 am and asked to speak to the manager, Jim(?) told me that the manager was not there and acknowledged speaking to Expedia personnel. I asked Jim when the manager would be there, and he said she wouldn't come in until Monday. I explained what had happened, and he looked at the computer and said I was not checked out. I said I do not know why Elizabeth checked me in when I did not stay here. If I needed a one-bedroom, I would have reserved a one-bedroom. I said check me out and give me a receipt, and he said, "I cannot give you anything." I’ve never stayed at a hotel that won’t provide a checkout receipt, and his insistence left me frustrated and angry. I drove five hours to spend the weekend with my family, only to spend half a day dealing with incompetent hotel staff and no resolution. I...
