This used to be America’s Best Value but has recently come under new management. I read some unfavorable reviews about ABV and hoped it had shaped up since then since it was nonrefundable by the time I realized this. Sadly, it didn’t appear as much had changed.

Check-in took about 20 minutes, and the front desk staff seemed absolutely overwhelmed. The woman who helped me was very kind, and appeared to be doing the absolute best job she could with what she was given. It became apparent to me almost immediately that they were having trouble figuring out which rooms were or were not occupied. The kind woman who helped me had to walk us to our room to see if there were already people in it or not. Fortunately it was vacant, and she assured me no one was going to be accidentally assigned to our room, which I appreciated.

First thing I noticed was the overwhelming smell like a dank basement. Luckily the windows opened and after airing it out and getting the A/C going (worked great) the smell became less apparent.

I checked the mattress because America’s Best Value had several reviews mentioning bed bugs, and luckily it seemed very clean, possibly new. The sheets were crisp white and clean which I was glad for.

The room seemed mostly clean but there were two arm chairs that were absolutely filthy like dirty bus seats. Bathroom was relatively clean but there was spiders and the door kept getting jammed. Also the slide lock on the door was broken off, almost as if it had been kicked in.

When I laid down in bed I noticed black spots all over the ceiling, and when I looked closer it looked a lot like mold. Maybe where the smell was coming from but I can’t say for sure.

All-in-all, it felt like a seedy motel, something I would expect to pay $60-$80 a night for. I paid $185 a night after tax, which now feels like way too much. I understand it’s conveniently located near the convention center, but was shocked to see the parking lot was basically empty with two conventions happening down the road. I can see why after my stay. I ended up spending very little time here because it just didn’t feel...

Okay, so this was my first time visiting cedar point, the hotel location was amazing! So we decided to stay here, the price wasn’t bad and we were only a few miles away from the park. We get inside and the lady behind the desk, who is a bit older, was VERY rude to the people in front of us. They had a reservation but she was teasing them about how they don’t actually book rooms until you arrive!? What does that mean!? Anyway so I get to my room and instantly I’m like, oh no... what have I done... there’s no mini fridge for our food... not even a phone for room service (which I don’t use, but maybe to order towels) there’s weird brown stuff on the walls. And pen dawn all over the bathroom door. The room key kept going out, like every day. The beds WRECKED my back so bad I couldn’t sleep half the time and the bathroom light went out... for two days they didn’t fix it... but hey! They gave us a lamp in the mean time!! Don’t get me wrong the staff were very polite and nice... but the conditions were horrible, and I’ve stayed at an Econo Lodge, at least they have mini fridges. This hotel also provided a Continental breakfast, OH BOY!! Assorted hostess donuts from the vending machine down the hall on a tray next to one pot of coffee... I paid almost $600 to stay here which is more than my months rent! And I couldn’t even sleep... please get a better hotel elsewhere, yes the hotel staff are nice, but you won’t be able to sleep and the sanitary conditions are very...

After reviewing the reviews I was very nervous about staying here, we only paid 100 dollars so I wasnt expecting a high quality hotel but then read that this place used to be a motel named under A different named priced at 50 dollars a night. This place is now under different management. I feel this place should still only be 50 dollars. I at least would of liked to sleep in a clean bed and be able to take a shower. After we got our room we checked for bed bugs the bed seemed clean besides the different kind of hair that was under the blankets and sheets . We did not find any bed bugs but we found bugs all in the dressers and drawers and on the windows. When we looked in the bathroom the ceiling was falling through in the shower and was covered in mold. The bathroom was so disgusting we perfected the lobby bathrooms which were also disgusting and most of the stalls were out of Order. The ceiling above the bed was also covered in mold spots. We woke up and left as soon as we woke up sick from breathing in the mold all night. Breakfast was just donuts and muffins but After experiencing what I did I was to scared to eat there, so we went to dunking donuts not to far away. I do not...
