We stayed at the Sandwich Lodge & Resort with our dog. ||There were plenty of good things about the space:|- The lodge is in a great place - local to many of the places that we like to visit in Sandwich.||- The continental breakfast is better than most of the places I've stayed in the past. ||- The staff was extremely nice to us. ||But, there's a flip side to all of this.|- The room was not very clean. We didn't really notice this at first because we hustled in, unpacked and went back out. While everything was dusted and wiped down, the floors were gross. Housekeeping comes on Tuesday, but they did not clean the floors - so they continued to get worse throughout our stay. We put towels down throughout the room so that we could avoid the floors completely. ||- The front desk staff are exceptionally nice, but both the air conditioning and the hair dryer were broken. The good news? It was fixed quickly. The bad news? How did the housekeeping team not know this and let the property management know? The air conditioner was on 66 and the room was filled with hot air - it was cooler outside.| |- There is a sign on the bathroom mirror that outlines the costs of every item in the room if you steal them. The hair dryer was broken - do they not look at them? They are concerned about stealing items, but they didn't even look at the plug of the hairdryer? It's not that the hairdryer didn't work. The plug itself was broken. ||My biggest gripe is housekeeping and the room not being clean. Maybe they don't clean rooms that allow dogs as well because they expect for them to be dirty? I certainly don't know, but if that's the case - it's unfortunate. ||For the value, for the location - it's a decent place to stay. Just be aware of the cleanliness of the rooms if you're traveling...
Read moreOk place to stay. Arrived Monday to find the room we reserved was not actually reserved. We need a room w/ Two beds and a Pull out couch as we had two children with us. I had called the day I reserved the room because on the web site it stated not all rooms had that pull out couch so I phoned to find out how I could be guaranteed one. Woman on the phone told me it was set. I also put a note in the comments on the reservation.|Woman at the desk was pleasant enough and told me she would have a rollaway brought up|She then came up to our room and said to come back down she was going to change our room.|We did get another room and it was the room I reserved! Not sure what the issue was but I was grateful for her kindness in changing our room since the roll away was not going to fit in room. ||Everything else went fine. Had some noisy neighbors on one side, Hotel cannot help that. |Getting towels was like pulling teeth from night desk attendant.. You would think that they were gold.! There were only three bath towels in the room and since there was four of us........ Went down to get more.....Nope.. Wasnt happening. Had to bring our dirty towels to her to prove I only had three.|weird. |Breakfast was great, Pool and Hot tub area good. Beds OK. Room was clean. AC set up was odd but it worked fine. |Would stay again.. Close to what we were doing....
Read moreI don't get to the Cape often, but when I do, I have stayed at the Sandwich Lodge and Resort. I find it convenient to all or the beautiful area attractions, beaches, boardwalks, restaurants, and just a relaxing place. The morning continental breakfast is very convenient and cozy and just the right number of choices to relax before beginning the day. The staff is exceptional and friendly and accommodating. Pricing is reasonable and the hotel is very clean and kept pristine. |The grounds are attractive and kept up. My choice of rooms for me and my partner was a 2nd floor larger room which offered a living room/kitchen and separate bedroom. This is the same room we stayed at a couple of years ago. |It is easy to make reservations, and I choose to make them directly with the "Front Desk'' via phone and Sarah is very accommodating, if you leave a message she gets right back to you and when we arrived she was very welcoming. |I would HIGHLY recommend The Sandwich Lodge and Resort to anyone staying or looking to stay in the Sandwich/Bourne and/or looking to have this as a 'home base'' to do more exploring which did to Falmouth, Mashpee and Marston’s Mills. It was convenient for all of our 'plans'' to see things in the area!!! ||Bill...
