Our family checked in Sept 7 for a 4-night stay with. The road to enter the hotel is a complete war zone. Major construction at the hotel next door that has been going on for 6 months and will be continuing for probably for another 6 months! No mention of construction from the front desk staff and no communication prior to our arrival. They could have easily added this info to the confirmation email. AND they should have this noted on their website. COMMUNICATE.||We were abruptly woken up and 5:45am our first morning to HEAVY machinery. Massive. Our front door opened up right to the noisy construction - about 25 meters away. We asked to change rooms for the rest of our stay. No offer to change rooms as the hotel was booked. ||"GM" offered a $100 discount off our total bill of $2000. Our room rate was $500 per night, so thanks for the negligible 5% compensation. 'GM" was completely non-responsive and did not make much of an effort to problem solve. He thought his gesture was fair.||GM told us the construction work would be finished by 3:30 pm that day. The reality was they were working with the heavy machinery until 7:30 pm.||GM told us they would not work over the weekend. And again Sat morning our sleep was disrupted at 6 am with loud banging, constant hammering and machines running. ||GM made it clear that these noise disruptions would be isolated to just two days of our stay. This was clearly not the case. The weekend disruptions continued (except Sunday), but there was no further offer of any compensation reduce our total bill. Think outside the box - offer free parking, F&B vouchers... anything? Just make your guests feel taken care of. While still at the hotel, I messaged the front desk and GM directly and never received any response. Clearly they don't care and would rather avoid the situation.||This hotel and the General Manager need extensive training on problem solving, managing guest expectations and proactive guest communication. If you know you are dealing with this construction issue for 6 months plus then why not come up with a plan of action? Communicate with your guests and adjust your rates to reflect the current guest experience you are offering. Unfair to charge full room rates when the environment your offering is sub-par. ||Had we known the current status of this hotel we would not have come but this hotel failed to inform us of this prior to our arrival. By not informing us, they took away our choice to make alternate arrangements. This hotel willingly checked us in knowing that they would fail at providing a positive guest experience! They are happy to gauge on $500 room rates knowing 100% that your guest experience will be TERRIBLE.||Unacceptable and well below hospitality standard. Read moreTHIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!||||I purchased my reservation for a “Deluxe Room” using Expedia.com. It was a lower rate than most other rooms in the property, and did not have an ocean view. It was on the ground floor. I am writing this review from that room. ||||First of all, it is NOT a hotel. It is a sleazy motel in a very nice location, walking distance from the beach (right across the street). And that’s the ONLY thing good about it.||||Check-in time is 4:00pm. At 4:00pm, they hadn’t even started cleaning it. I didn’t get in until 4:30pm. And there is no lobby parking. They have two parking lots, one tiny indoor lot that holds no more than a handful of cars, and another one above it open to the elements with the only security being a sign that says they are not responsible for stolen property or damage to your vehicle. What they don’t tell you up front is that PARKNG IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE ROOM. It is an additional $25.00 per night. Street parking is available, but it’s on the street — Park Mobile metered parking, and very limited. The meters do not take credit cards. They only take quarters, and they are NOT cheap. You can sign up with Park Mobile and pay online, however.||||So, after paying what I would have paid at a reputable hotel with parking, I get this tiny room. ||||The room has a desk, but no chair. (I had to “borrow” one from their breakfast room, and carry it to my room. ||||There is no place to put your suitcase except on the floor. When I asked them for a stand for my suitcase, the desk manager told me to use the chair I borrowed.||||The room stinks of cleaning solution. I had to open the windows and turn the fan on high, and that didn’t even work very well.||||While waiting for my room to be cleaned, I had to double park in the driveway of their extremely tiny parking lot, blocking traffic. It takes a three to five point turn to get out of that lot once you enter — there is only one way or out. While I was parked there waiting for my room to be cleaned several cars almost hit me, and one hit the wall trying to maneuver. ||||You would be better off in a Motel 6 than here, unless you like to be taken advantage of, and being abused by unhelpful and rude desk clerks. If I could give this place a ZERO star rating it would be too good for it. It may look good in the listing, but STAY AWAY!!! I guarantee you will regret your decision to stay here. It’s no bargain, and everything about it was sub-par and the attitudes of the desk clerks were caustic...
