I have stayed in many hotels and this was probably the rudest front desk/staff i have ever dealt with. First of all, when i came to check in around 4pm, there was no front desk there. It usually wouldn’t be a big deal but i waited for 30-45 minutes just to check in my room that i booked online. It would’ve been different and understanding if it was late at night but it was around 4 PM. Second of all, they tried to charge me $100 deposit when i explained to them that i stayed there before and never got charged a fee and the front desk started to have a attitude and get super rude with me for no reason. So i was like okay it’s whatever. Then the front desk tried to charge me extra when i told him that i booked online for 2 nights and then again, had a whole attitude with me about it. I kinda just gave up at that point because I’m not a kind of person to really start an argument. Anyways, i ended up not even getting a deposit back after allll of that chaos with front desk even though the room was clean, never taken any items from the room, and i checked out super early… so honestly i kinda agree with some of these reviews, that they like to steal peoples deposits.
Overall, the room was OKAY and it was a nice short walk to the boardwalk and the beach. BUT I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you want your money...
Read moreThis much is absolutely true: it certainly has a view of the beach. And that proximity to the action is probably alluring to some (it certainly was for us), but this hotel should be avoided. I will say that the staff were very nice, pleasant people, but that alone does not a great hotel experience make.
Everything about this place was awful. The room was cartoonishly small, dated, and hideous, and the walls were paper thin. The mattress on the bed was so lumpy and uncomfortable that my wife and I kept waking up in pain throughout the night. Both faucets in the room dripped. The toilet sounded like it was possessed upon flushing. Everything was dirty: the base boards, the bathtub, even the towels. The mini fridge was so loud you could barely hear the television when it's compressor kicked on, and the television barely had any channels to watch. The parking lot was it's own nightmare: spaces were sideways on a 45 degree incline and incredibly tight.
Do yourself a favor and don't fall into this trap. Go elsewhere. Pay the $50-$100 extra to avoid our headache. If you're on a tight budget though, be sure to bring your own towels and maybe get a...
Read moreDrove over to Santa Cruz and decided to stay here for a couple nights. The first thing I noticed was rundown furniture, a dirty bathtub, stains and cracks in the bathroom floor, and uncleanliness. Not too bad, but most definitely noticeable. Since the floors and table tops weren’t the cleanest we asked for additional towels. The man at the front desk had no problem giving them to us, however the woman came down and started accusing us of having “additional people” in our room when we did not. We never got the extra towels.. to further my complaint of this unprofessional place; while walking back to our room one night the woman ran out of the front desk area and screamed at us accusing us of now having additional cars on property when we in fact did not. We drove one car, we only had 2 people.. between the unprofessionalism and the nastiness of the surroundings from the people who run it and the hotel itself I would give it negative stars if allowed.
Btw for anyone thinking of staying here.. it’s cheap because the people who run it will try and get more money out of you by making up things and keeping your security deposit with no proof...
