Bed bugs! We are traumatized. It started horribly when at check in when motel manager asked for a 10 dollar cash deposit for the room key. I had a 20 dollar bill that was snatched out of my hand and put in a book. I asked for the change due to me. We then were given many excuses as to why we weren’t going to get the change. My daughter (23) looking puzzled as to why this man is behaving this way was told by the manager that she needed Botox. It was completely offensive and he said it to her 2 more times while making fun of us for wanting our change for the 10 dollar deposit. The manager did say we were getting the best room. If that was correct, I would hate to see the worst. We were handed on key to the room, a TV remote and a piece of paper that showed a Wifi connection with out a password. We entered the room and looked around. It was run down to say the least but I could deal with that. I wasn’t expecting a 4 star hotel. I pealed back the dirty comforter to clean sheets. The mattress had blood on it .I could go on and on. We figured we could buck up and deal with it for 2 nights stay during our busy weekend as long as week didn’t have to deal with the manager. I don’t think he even realized how rude he was. We quickly left and spent the rest of the day and evening doing tourist activities. Late in the evening the nightmare started. I woke up at 3am. I used the toilet, that I cleaned myself and went back to bed. When I pulled the sheet over my (we weren’t using the comforter because it was visibly dirty) I saw a bug, a bed bug. I quickly stood up and pulled the sheet down. More bugs. I got tissue and started killing them. Terrified with what I just had been sleeping in I went outside and paced for about an hour. I was in this bed for 3 hours and needed more sleep to continue my weekend I planned so far in advance. Because of the traveling I only have 3 hours sleep the night before. I woke the motel manager and informed him of the bed bug issue. He told me that that room hasn’t had an issue. I asked him to go into the room and see for himself. He refused and told me to talk with the owner in the morning. He told me other rooms have the bed bugs but I got the best room. He stated that the owner cleans the room himself and spays and takes care of any bed bug issues. He then told me that I could have ordered bed bugs off the internet just so I could get a refund on my room. He did say he was sorry and didn’t have another room. He told me I needed to go back to my room, turn all the lights on, keep them on and sleep on top of the dirty comforter. No way would I get back into that bed. As soon as a coffee shop opened I went there and called the booking agency. The booking agency did call and arrange a refund for only the night I would not be there. He refused to refund for the night he put my daughters and my health at risk. I went back to the hotel to return the Key. I TOOK ONE STEP INTO THE OFFICE AND STATED I WAS THERE TO TURN IN OUR KEY AND THE OWNER STARTED YELLING AT MY DAUGHTER AND I. He said we were never welcome in his motel again, that his hotel did not have bed bugs, that he is being forced to give me a refund, that we stole his TV remote, called us names, told us we must of brought bed bugs with us, etc. He was so hostile in yelling that we were scared for our safety. I snapped at all the disrespect and yelled back. I chewed him a good one. He then switched to being calm. Thank you for that. I was shaking and crying. I made him go through all our belonging so he knew for sure we did not have his remote for the TV. He did give me back the key deposit. Then my daughter and I immediately went to a laundry mat, took off all our clothes and laundered everything. After returning home I laundered all my belonging 2 more times, threw away my brand new luggage as requested by the LA county Health Department and reported this. Upon investigation the health department deemed my claim was valid and sent me the report. My daughter was bitten many times. I was bitten...

I booked online and only saw the 1st couple of pictures. I had stayed at, (what I thought was similar) places like this, but to my horror I was sadly mistaken. I will list my encounters in order of appearance... Upon drive-up, the parking lot was half filled with old broken down vans and RVs. Other half = UHauls. The RV's had homeless style plastic bags and trash all over the parking lot. Checking In: The old man, although nice, was extremely disheveled. My key to the room didn't work. The door had been previously broken into and the lock bondo'd into place. The room smelled of smoke. Like maybe crack smoke, and pee. Open light socket on the ceiling, smoke alarm ripped out exposing bare electrical wires. Rusty corroded old metal for all handles and hinges. Nothing closed right. No toilet paper, shower towels or soap. Unlockable, wide open bathroom window. Open holes in walls exposing old rusty plumbing. So I went to front to ask for toiletries... I got a 1/2 ripped apart, dried blood stained towel for the floor, and a smokey smelling towel to shower in. The shower drape kept falling off of the rod holder. A cockroach ran out of the rod after it fell. There were smaller roaches and droppings around the place. White and dark colored recent stains on the bed spread and pillow cases. The electrical sockets so old that anything plugged into them fell right out. Half of the electrical outlets simply didn't work at all. There was other people's hair in the shower, sink and all over the floor. I was told to stand on the bed to turn on the air-conditioner. Whe I asked why the air switch was so high up near the ceiling, I was told that it is to discourage people from using the air conditioner. While trying to sleep, I heard drunk (homeless type) people wandering around in the back rooms, yelling and singing till late hours. My belief is that this is one of those cheap motels that the government is placing the homeless in recent days and weeks, as described on the news lately. Some of the homeless type looked scary enough to be dangerous, in my opinion. I feared for my safety at night. That's all I can say, and/but if that's not enough I had to pay $150./night for...

I’ve been to some bad LA Motels but this one takes the cake, that is unless you enjoy sharing your room with countless cockroaches and the smell of crack and methamphetmine smoke constantly in the air constantly along with total chaos and despair and desperation that comes with it on a level most cannot even comprehend. Throw in the constant noise from those in, not such a good way let’s put it, around you constantly fighting and yeah, it’s an experience. Not a good one. And do NOT let the owner fool you into thinkING he cares. Not even sure he cares about himself. Let alone his worthless employees or business that literally on life support. The cops in town laugh behind his back and there’s an inside joke that goes, “2338 ocean park? Yeah I’m sure suspect is long gone already. Get ready for a long winded story followed by nothing”. Actually a real quote from TWO cops. Owner thinks he’s kicking out the bad guys but he doesn’t see they all just come back at night the millisecond, he steps into his vehicle and leaves. And I almost got into a fist fight just for staying there because supposedly one of the occupants was out of their mind vandalizing and spray painting a neighbors house’s/property or something and they blamed it on me. Like I work why would I wanna do juvenile activities like spray paint your home? In summation, great place to ho if you enjoy indulging in unhealthy compromising behavior, or if you enjoy hard drugs, and enjoy making bad decisions pretty much always. If you like making GOOD decisions, just don’t go. Not worth the price. In ANY RESPECT. And there are many more prices you will pay other than the room fee or key fee which isn’t even mentioned. God bless -Mike...

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT COME HERE This is not a motel. This is a line of tightly-packed jail cells, in an inward-facing layout where if anyone sneezes or snores in any of the 20 rooms, you will hear it clearly. Pros: The toilet worked Cons: Visible white stains on the comforter (use your imagination), paint(?) stains on the sheets, what appears to be women's underwear under the bed, AND a COCKROACH that ran out from under the sheets after I risked looking underneath them. They won't refund you if you have the same experience as me. If you book this place through Expedia, YOU WILL LOSE MONEY, and you will absolutely not want to spend the night.

This was the poorest excuse for a motel I've ever seen. Grimy, torn blanket covered with cigarette burns. Holes in the tiles, broken pictures on the wall, TV non-functional. When we asked to switch to a room with a working TV, we were told all of them weren't working. Asked to speak to the motel owner and was yelled at over the phone by him. This room was $176/night! Fortunately we were able to get a refund through complaining to the booking service. Run, do not walk, away from the Pavilions Motel in Santa Monica
