Long story short, JK & Co. saved the day and created the dream engagement ring that my now fiancée and I truly wanted, an oval diamond in a hidden halo setting. Abe and Matthew have been amazing, with first rate service, empathy and aesthetics. If we could do it all over again, we would have gone with JK & Co. from the beginning.

Before ending up at JK & Co, our engagement ring journey had a few twist and turns. My now fiancée and I did extensive research that spanned five months, including out of state jewelers. In the end it came down to a jeweler in the downtown diamond district and JK & Co. And the main reason we went with the downtown jeweler was because they had shown us a diamond we loved and gave us a three day deadline to get back to them.

What we realize now is there's usually two types of jewelers. Ones that will show you the diamond first. And one's that are jewelers that focus on the overall design not just the diamond. JK & Co. is the latter and for good reason because it's actually harder to create very well crafted jewelry, the smallest details matter and JK & Co did tell us that in our first meeting, this is why they aren't keen on showing CADs because those things are not easy for the layperson to understand and conceptualize and it's not easy for other jewelers to replicated as we found the hard way.

When we got our engagement ring from the first jeweler, it didn't seem right, the setting was too high, the hidden halo diamonds seem small and the alignment slightly slanted. After going back and forth with the first jeweler, we lost faith that they would be able to create the engagement ring we wanted.

So, we turned to JK & Co, because we had seen in person a ring design they had that was pretty much what we had in mind. We met with Abe again and told him our situation. He was understanding and non-judgmental. He was confident that JK & Co. could make the engagement ring of our dreams. And they delivered! They created it sooner than the original estimate and everything about how they presented it to us and talked us through the process was done with first class service. It was really a night and day experience compared to the other jeweler.

JK & Co. might not be the cheapest jeweler, but they are also not the most expensive. For us they are a perfect balance between quality and cost. The whole experience with them was a joy and relatively stress free. Even having their location on Ocean Park in Santa Monica makes a difference. It's the type of place you can walk around with your family and feel safe.

I live and work in Santa Monica, so when I was ready to buy an engagement ring -- I searched all the engagement ring jewelers in Santa Monica. I leveraged both Google and Instagram, and after about 30 minutes of research -- it was clear that JK & Co. was the absolute best option. You could not find a bad review even if you tried. After my first appointment with Abe, I totally understood why. Abe was so kind and caring, and what I loved most is that he lead with education. Given that I knew nothing about engagement rings / diamonds, he started from the ground.. answering every single question I asked. Never once did I feel like I was being sold to, which is why I decided to book my follow up appointment a few weeks later. Prior to my second appointment, we continued to email and he continued to respond very quick. I told him my budget for the ring, as well as the the cut and band style I wanted, and when I arrived upon second appointment, he had a menu of diamond options (ranging from slightly under budget to slightly over budget). I was super impressed by his organization, and again, can't stress how seemingly he made the process. Granted, there were some tough decisions I had to make, but Abe had so much compassion and empathy -- really helping me understand the tradeoffs. I wound up going with the ring that was above budget, but my golly, the look on my fiance's face when she saw the ring for the first time was unbelievable. I am so grateful I found JK & Co. The ring is so unbelievably beautiful, and I am so happy. Not to mention they are doing a free ring sizing since I got one size too big. Can't recommend...

Working with Matthew at JK & Co has been a true journey. And wow, was it a journey! I've been through numerous jewelers, numerous meetings. I'd get close to a design, and then I would either not hear from the jeweler again, or they would end up trying to control my design to a point where I felt like it wasn't mine. And then I found JK & Co, and Matthew. We walked into our first meeting with Matthew with a bunch of ideas, and he sifted through my all of my anxieties to advise me on how we could capture the feel of my ring and remain practical. He was the first jeweler to provide new ideas for me and he encouraged me to think outside of the box. With having cancelled our October 2020 wedding this year (due to covid), and toiling over my "perfect" forever ring for SO long, we finally found a jeweler who was interested in capturing exactly what we wanted. No ego, no alternative motives. He gave us facts about how to make a strong piece of jewelry, his design opinion when we asked, and his support when we felt unsure. The result is this gorgeous, moody engagement ring. I'm still getting used to the size of this thing, but it has truly turned out to be exactly the bold ring I imagined.
