We read the negative as well as the positive reviews, but we’re simply out of options after VRBO cancelled our previous reservation shortly before our trip (with zero explanation). Southern Vacation rentals made sure to reply to all negative reviews with “we wish you’d reached out to us during your stay.” Well, guess what?! We did. The second day. They replied with “we’ll put in a work order for that.” Guess how many of those work orders were remedied? NONE. They literally couldn’t care less about their patrons. We paid thousands to stay here and had the worst experience. First of all, the place was filthy—and I don’t even consider my standards all that high. Southern Vaca Rentals said they’d have someone come out and clean while we were there (what a pain!), but, of course no one ever showed. The light switches had drippings and smears that looked ancient—my guess—they’ve never even been cleaned. There was food and crumbs everywhere on the floors, there was actual feces in the bathroom door (!!!). The appliances were filthy—the oven didn’t heat well abs the fridge wouldn’t stay cold. The BIGGEST ISSUE?! Beach access!! What a joke! You pay a premium for private beach access (gated with a key card for entry). We were heckled by a beach security guard each time we went to the private beach (we paid for access to!!!!) for nearly 30 minutes. And we weren’t the only ones. It was pitiful! So sad! You are also not allowed to have canopies for shade for small children, so prepare to be miserable—OR to shell out hundreds of dollars for rentals (so they all match and keep the beach pretty—ugh!!). We brought the beach access up to Southern Vaca Rentals before we got there abs they assured us that there were no “beach police” as mentioned in several reviews and that canopies would absolutely be allowed. Both were completely untrue! I then contacted them about it once we arrived and were heckled. You guessed it— they “put in a work order.” This company provides the absolute worst customer service we’ve ever received on vacation. We will make sure to let everyone we know to avoid them at all cost! Also, we will be renting through anything but VRBO from here on out after their last minute cancellation (with zero warning or communication). Read moreI will start with the fact that we rent condos at the Adagio almost every year for the past 15 years. We love the location and love the beautiful grounds and amenities like the pool.||Every year we rent check in as been 3 pm. We drive 12 hours to get to Adagio and to beat the crazy traffic we travel through the night to reach Blue mountain beach by noon. We usually go to lunch and then change in Adagio restrooms and go to beach till our condo is ready.||This year because of Covid our check in was pushed to 5 pm. A bit extreme if you ask me with the prices we are paying for the night. However we accepted that and when we arrived we emailed them to say that we were here and if the condo was ready early to please let us know. . We did not hear from them so at 5 pm we unloaded our two cars because we had 4 teens and 4 adults and headed to our room which was exactly what we’re we told to do. We get to room with all luggage in tow only to find out that room had not even been cleaned yet. We literally sat by our luggage till 642 pm . I called and complained and I got the excuse that they are short staffed but would refund me one hundred dollars. ARE YOU KIDDING.? We drove 12 hours and were so tired by 645 that we did not grocery shop until next day which took 2 hours of out vacation. So of our 7 days , one day was wasted and a couples|| hours of or second day as well.||Fast forward to the week where we had to call maintenance because the Dryer would not dry our clothes for hours.||Maintenance comes and tells us that they “ snaked “ the lines and that it should work better. It never did. We had to shower with damp/ wet towels that took 5 hours to get to point where we could even use. ||I have called guest services 3 times since we left and was told management would return my call. Never heard from them. ||I truly love the Adagio and hope this was an isolated event. We will not rent E-201 again.||We may try a different upscale place next year but we love our traditions of going to Adagio. ||THIS PLACE SEEMS TO BE GOING DOWNHILL FAST. ||PLEASE DON’T LOSE LONG TIME PATRONS BY ALLOWING YOUR UNITS TO NOT UPGRADE APPLIANCES .ALSO COVID OR NOT IF YOU HAVE PEOPLE RENTING FROM YOU THE UNITS NEED TO BE GIVEN AT TIME THAT OUR...

I will be speaking more on who we rented through. SOUTHERN RENTALS we rented until 303E! I don’t have anything nice to say about them. Appliances weren’t functioning. We got a “work order” for the washer that was broken, it never got fixed. Both the washer and dryer are so old. The dryer doesn’t stop spinning if the door is open. That’s a huge hazard especially as we have a 1 yr old walking around and can get the door open. There is mold in the master bathroom drywall around the shower. The icing on the cake— they keypad to get inside the unit it electronic. It was brought to my attention realtors have a code that is active for the units every day from 9-5pm. We woke up from a nap to a realtor yelling “hello” as she was inside our unit we paid to rent with an older couple! After speaking with her she left. I called ADAGIO, who was very helpful with contact info. SOUTHERN RENTALS didn’t respond to my text. I called multiple times to get a response. They apologized. I requested a chain lock be placed back on the door, as the one was removed previously. (Assuming so realtors could come and go as they want while your family is at the pool or beach!) The owners said no, and southern rentals offered $100 off a 2,000$ stay. Luckily, they had a huge box of outdoor furniture delivered previous to our stay. We asked that it be removed, when they brought us up a new remote (it was missing) and drinking cups (they were also missing from the unit). The gentlemen told my husband he needed to help him remove the large box that took up our entryway. We came on vacation to relax not work or help fix problems that should have been taken care of. We had to then slide this huge heavy box over each time we came inside to lay our children down bc we didn’t sleep comfortably knowing random realtors have a code to this unit.
