On a MC trip to Ohio from Southern NM, & back. On a budget, so we were looking for a last minute budget friendly, and MC friendly stop. This was EXACTLY what we were looking for, only better. Eddie the Proprietor is a genuine hoot. We stayed in the "Honeymoon" Suite. Probably pretty much the same as the other rooms I'd bet, only, a single King Size bed. Non-Smoking was a must for us. Room was spotless. Bathroom was just about the cleanest of any hotel I've stayed at. Hot shower, oatmeal bath bar provided, but no shampoo. Bed, in my opinion, was possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept on at a motel. NO fridge, NO ice machine, NO Coffee, NO FRILLS, NO free breakfast, (there is no such thing as a free lunch, BTW) but at the extremely low price? Clean, Safe, Comfortable, and Friendly? THE BEST. We left Eddie, (who cleans the rooms himself) a $20 tip, both directions, (more than a third of what the room cost us BTW) as we liked this motel so much, we stayed on our way back home also. Decor is Mid-Century kitsch, but fresh, not old and broken down. Easy in and out parking, right in front of your room, (safe storage for our HD MCs, where we could keep an eye on them), A/C worked great. If you are expecting: a Pool & Spa, with Rec-Room, (so-called) Free Breakfast, Golf Course, Room Service, and (so-called) Free Coffee.... You need to go somewhere else, you won't find any of that stuff here. What you will find is friendly warm service, a hot shower, a clean and comfortable, (dated), room, a halfway decent Burger-Pizza-Mexican Restaurant / Bar right next door. Order American there, the Mexican isn't very good, Pizza was great. (but that is another review) We WILL stay here again, and highly recommend it for the budget...
Read moreWe were on a MC trip across the country, Santa Rosa NM was our first stop on Historic Route 54 / 66. Eddie the Proprietor was a hoot. THIS IS A BUDGET LINE MOTEL. Keep that in mind. No frills. Very Very Clean. Very comfortable bed in the room we rented, clean, (although small), bathroom, recently remodeled, very hot water in shower. No shampoos provided, but very nice oatmeal soap bar. Bathroom window cracked from external vandal, (older motel, and budget friendly!!). Don't expect perfection, and it ain't the Ritz. But for the room rate, and a clean, comfortable, friendly stay? You couldn't find a better place. Decorated in 1950's Kitch, easy access, in and out, No RV spaces at motel, but I believe they have an RV park attached, if not attached, there is one right behind the motel. Joeseph's Bar and Grill, is right next door. Great Pizza, not real cheap, decent service, (not great), oh, the Mexican Food at Joseph's is not great, order something else, again, the Pizza was very good. I highly recommend this motel for the "Budget Minded" traveler. It ain't the Ritz.... (again).... but if you are expecting the Ritz, go spend 200+ a night at one of the chains, and you will probably be disappointed, but you'll get all the frills. We liked this motel so much we stayed there on the...
Read moreAfter striking out on motel rooms in Vaughn, it was relief to roll in to Santa Rosa where rooms were plentiful and everything seemed a little calmer. Of the many motel choices in Santa Rosa, La Loma turned out to be a good one, a good value. The owner was friendly, the room rate was great, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Clearly these rooms have seen a lot of use but also a lot of maintenance as well. The only item of note that seemed off was the security chain for the door was installed incorrectly; the chain slot for the door was installed backwards so that opening the door would cause the chain to slide toward the chain keyway opening and eventually just fall out, providing no...
