When checking in I was told I had reserved two rooms. I assured her I had not. She finally just canceled one of the rooms after a bit of condescension and attitude. No soap. I found this out when I went to wash my hands after cleaning the filthy room floor (dried dog urine). Front desk said the hotel was out of soap. I have never experienced this in all of my travels over many many years. One light not working in room. Room smelled really strong of cleaning solution, which was odd because room (floor) did not appear to have been cleaned. Had to run AC and leave the room for an hour to air out the room. Young woman at front desk seemed annoyed when I asked her about the soap situation. I had to go across the street to family dollar to buy soap. Had to park away in dirt/gravel lot because I had a small trailer. I understand Super 8 is a budget hotel, but this is no excuse for the condition/situation I experienced. Especially when I was charged $85 to stay here! It's kind of sad because the property looks like it has potential. It's just not currently properly run and staff is not well trained, or they just don't care. If this was my property I would be seriously looking for a management change. I am giving 2-stars because the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. In the future I will stay at the Santa Rosa Best Western which is worth the extra cost (I have stayed...
Read moreWe just stayed here on our family vacation, we went just to visit the blue hole and this hotel was the only reasonable priced hotel for our budget, now I see why : I had to have maid service come back in and re clean the room due to it smelling like a wet dog smell, and animal hairs in the carpet, I have allergies, I actually went to the store and purchased my own cleaners too. We wanted a fresh clean smelling room 😄, Upon arrival was the only decent front desk service we received, other times never greeted or spoken to upon arrival or departure, breakfast area was dirty and trash can was overflowing, I asked about the orange juice not working, the breakfast worker said she'd look into it, instead made her and the front desk lady breakfast plates, the orange juice never worked during our whole stay, we got locked out everyday due to having to go to the front desk and get the keys reprogrammed everyday of our stay that sucked. The hallway reeked of marijuana daily, the WiFi didn't work half the time, the only good experiences were the blue hole is across the street, very convenient, Dorothy the housekeeper was friendly and the 2 older Indians that worked there always greeted us, other than that nothing We actually didn't have issues with no hot water as I saw on other reviews, surprisingly! We'd go back to Santa Rosa in the later future but definitely not stay...
Read moreI was allowed to bring my dog into this motel but I wouldn't call it pet friendly. Zero pet accommodations, not even a decent patch of unlittered grass. The bed is so tall that my beagle jumped and missed twiced before he understood the Herculean effort required of him to get up and the floor was cold tile without so much as a door mat so when he jumped down there was no support or grip for his feet.
Also, the sheets literally made my skin crawl and something bit me in the middle of my back when I was trying to sleep, though after searching the bed thoroughly I couldn't find anything. Killed a few small flying bugs, there was an old smear stain on the wall from a previous guest doing the same. Ended up sleeping on top of the coverlet, worst night's sleep for me in years.
The toilet paper roll was empty. Little obvious oversights like this makes you wonder what else wasn't done right.
The ladies that checked me in were really nice, though. The stars I did give is for their service.
Say what you want that I chose to stay at a super 8 and should have expected this, but the ratings and photos looked good. I paid $75 dollars for this room plus 10 to let my dog in and I expected better.
Not recommended to anyone with dogs or likes clean sheets and a bug free...
