This was the worst motel experience of my life. In order of importance: Safety, quality, and Price. Buckle up, this is a long one. ||Safety: The door didn't lock properly. The deadbolt didn't lock, because the door was warped. No big deal, just use the chain right? Wrong. The chain was not attached securely to the wall. It was screwed to the door frame, but one screw was completely out and the other screw was only in the frame about 1/8 inch. And the door frame was actually falling off the wall. So there was no way to truly lock the door. The shower had a window in it that doesn't fully close, and the bathroom door also didn't close. The main window had a curtain that wasn't wide enough to fully cover the window. In fact, someone in the parking lot would have a clear view of the always-open bathroom. Not a huge deal if people aren't hanging out in the parking lot, but the front desk man spent 90 minutes pacing and hanging out in the parking lot with his dog. He mostly paced around the lot with his dog, passing in front of my room each lap. He also would hang out right in the center "courtyard" thing which was right in front of my room. I kept waiting for him to go back in the office so I could walk my dog, since his was off-leash, but he never did. Eventually I armed myself just in case and walked my dog to the grass/dirt patch by the street and a little ways away from the parking lot. We hung out there for about 30 minutes waiting on an opening to be able to get back to the room without crossing paths with him or his dog. He got on a weird bike and started doing laps slowly, so I tried to time it so we would avoid him, but as soon as I turned the corner, he SPED UP. Wish I was joking. I turned back, but his dog noticed mine and charged her. I stopped his dog, but he said nothing. We went back to the room and I immediately started packing. In total I spent 90 minutes in that motel, and he spent 90 minutes in the parking lot. I went to the office to drop my key off. I was just going to throw it out the car window and GTFO, but I didn't see him anywhere so I got out of the car and knocked on the door. A different person was inside and unlocked the door, but didn't open it. Instead he looked at me, then behind me. THE GUY WAS BEHIND ME. I handed him the key, and left as fast as possible. I've watched way too many horror movies for this mess.||Quality: The floor was not complete. Planks were loose, out of place, weird and gappy. The toilet is not secured to the floor. The shower head looks like it has mange. I killed 4 bugs within 2 minutes of walking in. They didn't try to run. I think they were happy to die. Drawers were falling apart. There were holes in the walls, paint chipping, the usual stuff. I obviously did not sleep in the bed, but if a trampoline and an old pair of granny panties had a baby- that baby is the mattress. Outside of the room, it looks just as bad. Dog turds in random parking spots, weird furniture in random places, lots of desk chairs where there are no desks. ||Price: I booked online without seeing the place first and got a deal of $50 for the night. After tax it was something like $59. I'm seeing that other people paid upwards of $100. After my 90 minute stay, you could not PAY ME to return. This is not a $100, $50, or even $20 motel. This is a motel from a horror movie. That's it. I've stayed in some crappy motels, and I actually enjoy the quirky nature of them. This one made...
Read moreI chose this hotel, based on the photos that made it look okay. But they were misleading. We arrived so tired, we did not ask for a refund and go look elsewhere but I wanted to. Old is fine, but when something is old and neglected, run down and not fixed, that is not acceptable for the money you pay out. Best I CAN say is: The man owner came cheerfully to get the AC working as well as the TV which had been unplugged by the maid and not plugged back in! He also let us have more towels. The beds and pillows were clean and comfortable. The TV worked well with a good remote. There was hot water. The fridge was large and helpful. BUT these things are not excusable: Only 3 outlets in entire room, no outlet by sink to plug in my toothbrush. Molding falling off and not repaired, broken toilet paper holder/not replaced. Wide open cracks around door and AC unit-- not sealed thus bugs could enter freely. No ice machine! No breakfast WHICH was advertised. Floor tile was sticking up so someone could trip. Parking blocks were crumbling & its paint was flaking. Yard was trashy, garden hose not wound up, weeds, & stickers so our dogs got them in their paws. Come on, hire a repairmen and get this place up to speed! Not a fair deal, as far as we...
Read moreEEW...Just checked in and checked right back out. I had booked a room via Expedia. I knew it was an older motel, but have a fondness for vintage places. This one, however, was DISGUSTING. When I walked into the office it smelled like moth balls and a child had taken a marker to the walls behind the desk. This was the good part. When we got to the room, the bottom of the door appeared to be rotted and covered with metal. The door would hardly open. Once ope the smell hit. I don't know what it was, but it was putrid. The walls were filthy with God knows what, the bed spread was filthy and had hair on it and the carpet was filthy as well. The sink was propped up with 2 x 4's. I went back to the office and asked if they had a room that was cleaner. The woman (assuming one of the owners) told me that is what I booked - a room with two queen beds. So I asked for a refund. She told me I would have to call Expedia. So I did. Expedia tried to call them to cancel/refund my money, but they wouldn't pick up the phone. I had to walk back to the office and hand them my cell in order for the Expedia representative to speak with them. This is the first time I have ever had to leave a motel without staying - and that is...
