While on a cross country trip, my wife and I spent the night in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. We usually search for a good place to eat. As we were driving into Santa Rosa, my wife came across La Villa Burgers and Boba. The reviews seemed to be good, so we decided we'd go there after checking into our hotel for the night. It was fairly easy to find and upon arrival there were only a couple of people in the establishment. The menu was available by a Tablet where you did your ordering, not something we're used to. Also there was a pieced together printed menu that looked like someone took screen shots of the Tablet menu and printed it. Not very user friendly. An older gentleman came from the kitchen and made a half hearted attempt to try and help us. I was sort of surprised at the prices, but the reviews were good, so we went ahead and ordered. We both got the same combo. I would have liked to have been able to order a burger with everything already factored into the price, but if you wanted chilis on it, it was extra, cheese, extra, you get the picture. This combo came with the burger, fries and a drink. We put in our order and waited, and waited. I understand that you may have to wait if the place is busy, but like I said earlier, there were only two other customers in the place and they already had their food. The burgers we ordered were doubles. The patties were pretty tasteless, and most likely frozen not fresh. The toppings that came with the burger, onions, pickles and mustard were below average. The self serve soda machine worked, but there was no ice in the machine. The only thing that was decent was the fries and to be honest, even the current McDonald's fries are way better that the ones that La Villa serves. The cost for this meal for my wife and I was just shy of $30. The previous night we had eaten at another well known burger joint. The meal there was delicious, hot and tasty and only cost us about $20. If by chance we ever stay in Santa Rosa again, we will be sure to avoid La Villa...
Read moreWe stopped into La Villa Burgers & Boba for a quick boba break while driving through Santa Rosa. We didn’t try the food this time since not everyone in the family wanted burgers, but the boba was great—flavorful, refreshing, and a fun surprise to find in a small town.
The space is clean, bright, and recently opened (less than a year ago), with friendly staff and a welcoming vibe. The menu is super simple—burgers, fries, and one fish option—which keeps things easy if you’re just looking for a solid, no-fuss meal. It’s a casual place that clearly focuses on doing a few things well.
It’s also worth noting that the restaurant shares space with the gift shop next door, making it an easy spot to grab a snack or drink while browsing for Route 66 souvenirs. We’ll definitely consider coming back to try the food next time we...
