We went here for fourth of July. Some of my family members been here a few times and it was my first time. For this holiday at 0900 we arrived and it was already packed. Lots of parking space still available. One of my brother parked on the outside of the road behind other cars. Everything was fine until one of the workers directing traffic near the parking that was near the river (a large man) told my brother to remove his car from such parking spot. Another car came and parked there and the guy did not tell him to remove his car and so we confronted the worked and asked him why he asked us to move our car when he allowed this other car to stay in the spot we had initially arrived early and had taken. He denies he had ever said anything and he was rude and using curse words. This was highly inappropriate and unprofessional and once we confronted him of such inappropriate words he muffled behind our backs he denied ever saying them. Anyways the lines for the water park were long and people kept cutting in lines. Older children with red wrist bands were in the water pool for smaller children and they were rough. My child always got hit by these older children who were reckless and just jumping and running without regards. No staff nearby to say anything. The restrooms were disgusting and fifty. No soap and toilet paper was scarce. Not to mention portal restrooms were stinky and dirty to a point it was hard to breath in them. Only one food truck and one truck that offer drinks for who know how many hundreds of individuals. The place was trashed until they brought bags. The staff was rude and not helpful. People smoking near the kids water park. I would never again go to this water park. Truly disgusted and...
Read moreSpent a lot of time here as a kid. Almost drowned here, before I learned how to swim, but I was saved by one of my oldest friends, Carla Guinn. Lots of fun here for kids of all ages!
Also where a fifteen year old, Eric Church, jumped off a swing, higher than anyone I ever saw jump that high! You'd think he was jumping to the moon! He was fearless. If that swing set was still there it would be a national landmark! (Yes, that Country Boy, Eric Church!)
In the summer, it has "The Wibit," and a waterslide (with slides from the old Waterpark that was originally in Albuquerque) and has paddle boats too. So it is quite the hopping place, at that time of year.
It's next to the baseball field where there are numerous tournaments throughout the year. It's in walking distance from the famous Blue Hole.
There is a great fireworks display here, every Independence Day!
My family has loved this place for four generations. But things have changed a lot, so I would suggest a fee free day for locals, at least once a week, as they used to swim here for free all the time and now are squeezed out by the tourist, most every day of the...

Lots of fun for the whole family! Here are some things you should know before going. DO get there early, or at least right at open, to get a decent spot. DO take a canopy tent. There are plenty of shade trees, by those spots go fast. DO take lawn chairs/camping chairs. DO take an ice chest with snacks. They even allow bbq grills, if you want to grill. There’s also a little food stand near the restrooms, but I’m not sure if it’s always open or not. DO bring floaties. There are designated areas for swimming and floaties are allowed. Lastly, and most important, DO bring sunscreen! Overall, this is a great spot for families. The entrance fee and parking fee are very reasonable ($5 parking, $10 for the water park) and you can easily spend all day there. One other thing to note, it gets busy and when that happens they rotate groups in and out of the water, so you may wait a while. But if you get there early you should be able to get one round on the Wibit...
