Dollar General — Local services in Santa Rosa

Very poor customer care and interest was not the first agenda of business in the store. My wife and I were traveling to see family in Santa Rosa and we brought along our dog who we have had for over 11 years. She comes with us because she has severe separation anxiety and because of this we did not bring her into the store. She is very well cared for, windows were left open and she has her own personal air conditioner in our car. But the workers sitting outside smoking their cigarettes decided that they were going to make that a personal interest while we were shopping to which my husband overheard very loud conversation from the workers about how a customer left their dog in the car. When he approached them to tell him it was a dog and that she was fine what I assume was the supervisor and the worker at the time treated him like we did something very bad when actually they had no idea much less checked on our dog to see that she has an air conditioner. But stated to us because they were outside smoking cigarettes with their black uniforms that it was to hot in the car that it was bad for us to leave our dog in the car during this very hot day. To which my husband asked if we could go ahead and bring her in since they had better knowledge over the care for our dog then we did. Her response was yes but her treatment of us was very very bad and very embarrassing. Being that we had only been in the store now for 5 minutes. This was done with line of customers. So we get our dog and come in and decide we really don't need anything from the store. And as we're leaving, our visit was only 10 minutes the same workers are sitting outside smoking again Apparently it was a very hot day It wasn't too hot for them to be outside smoking again, while there was still a very long line in the store. My wife loves Dollar general stores and where we live we have a very good relationship with Dollar general workers. As a store that is set by the highway I'm sure there have been many customers with pets in their car stepping in for just a minute to grab something and being well within their time limit that these Dollar store associates would find a better way to express their love for animals to the customers who also love their animals. And maybe address an myb conversation with associates that need to find their way of working more for those customers, then then conversing about those customers while not...

The store was messy dirty. The medication area was low on all stocks. It was the first time I saw a self pay station at a dollar store. Glad I was just oassing through the area I wouldn't want this to be the store I had to go to regularly. In fact the store in my area is so great compared to this one. It was what I compated it to and wss do shocked to motice yhe difference.
