The property seems to be in a convenient location although we did not have an opportunity to explore much in the area.
The room was comfortable but the property in general was well below average in our experience. The exterior corridor proved to be difficult to access on the 2nd floor without an elevator and the attendant would not release a first floor room to us. The bed was comfortable however the room itself could have used some amenities. The bathroom was very small and the door would not close. The sink area was also very small. Generally speaking, except for the king-sized bed, the room was not well suited for any more than one guest. Breakfast selections were extremely limited and did not appear to have a staff member maintaining the area. The service time could have benefited from extended hours on the weekend.
The biggest disappointment for us was that the property was "pet friendly". We understand that some guests require certified service animals and this review is not intended to specifically address that. Several in our family have pet allergies and we would have stayed elsewhere had we known about the policy at this hotel. What custodial actions are taken to ensure pet dander, pet waste, etc have been properly addressed/removed throughout the property? Regardless of allergies, I really do not want my children crawling on floors that could of had pet waste that simply was not cleaned.
Ice/vending/laundry are all in one specific area of the property and, as luck would have it, it was on the opposite side from the location of our room. There is also little in the way of directing you there so you sort of have to search and find. Be prepared in poor weather as you have to traverse through an area that is not covered in order to access these amenities.
In summary, we will probably stay elsewhere next time simply because the property allowed pets and the fact that it is...
Read moreUpdate 2022 * We booked going south after Christmas this year based on our pleasant stay last year. A lot has changed though, which is strange because they seemed to have been renovating when we visited the first time. Not sure why you would invest in a property to then not keep up with it, but the room we stayed in this time was vastly different than the ground floor room last year. The upstairs room we just stayed in was less than clean, the full length mirror was filthy with paw prints, the bedding seemed not exactly fresh and a bit worn. The upgrades in this room were half-done with little attention paid to details. Everything appeared shabby and felt unclean. We checked in late and they were packed full. However, I had booked months in advance and had requested a ground floor room, but one was not held for me. In the future, I will not stay here again and no longer will suggest it to others. The staff we encountered were all very kind though and one must also keep in mind the staffing shortages, but even so skimping on cleanliness is unacceptable. This is a nice place to stay directly off of 95. A cluster of motels, restaurants, gas stations and a pharmacy in a well kept area of the community right off the interstate. I believe the Baymont is family owned. Everyone we had contact with was quite nice and friendly! The room was medium-sized and clean. Everything we needed for a quick stay after traveling all day on the highway south from home was found here. We refueled the car, ate a casual dinner and had a good night's sleep. The parking was so convenient, we were right outside of our room! Fresh juice, coffee and fruit was offered in the morning. I wish we had more time to investigate Santee, but we were headed to the Florida Keys this time. I would recommend this place to anyone heading that way as a nice...

We travel a lot from North Florida to North Carolina. We stay at alot of places since we travel half way and then sleep for the night. We have an infant, a 4.5 year old and two dogs….traveling with the dogs make it almost impossible to find anywhere decent that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for the pet fee. I am SHOCKED this place has only a 3.9 star review. It was the cleanest hotel I have EVER stayed in. Even the hotels that are way more expensive. They charge $15 for a pet which is reasonable and fair. That’s how all hotels should be! I walked on the floor barefoot and not a spec of dirt! Beds were SO COMFORTABLE. Three pillows to a bed too! They also have like 150 channels or so for the TV! They also have a Cracker Barrell you can walk too for breakfast…UMM YES PLEASE! How convenient is that?!? I can tell you that we found our home when we travel. We will not stay with anyone else.
Oh also, when we found this place, we were 15 mins away late into the night and Jessica answered the phone and was SO KIND to us. Gave us superb customer service and was so pleasant to work with. In a time where no body wants to work and those that do work give you attitude, she was wonderful.
Oh lastly, when we were packing up, the cleaning staff were so fun to chat with as I was loading the car with my whole crazy family. They also gave me great directions to the ice machine. Every staff I encountered with was amazing.
5 star!!! Way to...
