Nothing plus about this Best Western! Bugs! Front desk person was totally unhelpful! We need a fridge with a freezer section for freezer packs when we travel. Despite confirming this was possible with front desk when booking, first room no luck. Despite assurances from front desk, second room no luck. As my pictures show, room was very old and worn! No table or chairs to sit at to eat. Had to use a pillow to sit on! Toilet seat was off centre, rugs dirty and worn, musty smell, and a first for us as we travel frequently, bug in the tub! Not what we expected from a Best Western! Unfortunately too late to switch hotels! In the morning my husband and I were uncomfortable eating in the dining area because of the bible quotes on the chalk boards. Yes, more than one. 2 percent milk was off, no yogurt or cheese on the menu. Muffins would have been a healthier selection than donuts. Hot food was ok. Front desk in the morning offered no reduction in fee. Said all their new fridges have no freezer compartments. Cost saving feature maybe? Wifi was ok but lack of usb ports was annoying. We had our own plug in chargers though. Some people might like the older ambience but we expected better from this hotel chain. We won’t be back and will return to our preferred hotel chain in this area!

We needed a pet friendly room for our 10 lb family member. The room was old and the repairs were very poorly done in the bathroom. The carpeting was severely stained in multiple areas, just making for a generally uncomfortable feeling in the room. The staff was excellent in all aspects. We needed to move rooms because there were several different guests with pets and all of us agreed to have separated rooms so the animal wouldn't talk to each other through the night, this accommodated with no questions asked, for this we were very grateful and they were very responsive. The room quality definitely needs to be updated and repaired properly regardless of it being a pet room or not it should not look like it was an animal shelter. The pet walking area was okay however it does need to be cleaned up, there was broken glass and chicken bones in several areas of the grass and along the curb of the parking area. The area is a difficult location to find decent food, and doesn't feel that safe. I do however love the motel concept where you can park right outside your room door, and that is why I gave it a chance and may even give it another chance to see if it has been cleaned up in the future but if it is not cleaned up I will not stay.

Very clean, quiet, great for us! Looking for a halfway stop on the way south, I chose this BW Plus after reading reviews. Super glad we has a reservation as apparently the golfers are in town and there was no vacancy. The hotel is just a couple blocks off 95 but next to a lovely golf course and was very quiet. It is an older one story hotel, and you can park right at your door. The entrance is exceptionally welcoming, with pretty lights adorning it, and comfy chairs with beachy themed pillows outside. The office/dining room opens into a heated outdoor pool, which had very clean, warm water, confirmed by me touching it. Our room had older decor with high bed, but very, very clean and comfortable. Super good bright lighting in the room with multiple lamps. The bathroom was very clean, and the towels were quality and fluffy. See pics. I saw the housekeeping carts when we checked out, with multiple spray bottles of Tilex, and our tub was spotless. Breakfast was fairly usual for a BW, although I was disappointed they had run out of bacon. Despite age, for cleanliness, quiet and comfort, I give this Santee BW Plus an A+.

Have been going to BW Santee for close to 10 years. Several years ago we were accosted by ferrel cats on dog side of hotel. Every stay since they accommodated us with a room on the other side due to my wife's fear from being attacked as a child. For some reason on this most recent trip the front desk refused to place us in a different part of the hotel. We pushed but got nowhere. We reached out to Corporate who contacted the hotel. They were told 1. They only made exceptions in the past because they were in emergency conditions (not true, we don't travel during emergency conditions), 2. The other alternate rooms have carpets so they don't want pets in them (not true as we have been placed in alternate tiled rooms), 3. They did not want to eat a $200 cleaning fee for letting a pet into a non pet room (does anyone honestly think that BW Santee is charging themselves $200 to clean a tiled room because a small dog stayed in it? This one is insulting) and 4. There is only 1 feral cat (we observed 3 on this trip, more in the past). On top of this a caretaker who lives on the pet side of the hotel sits outside his room and feeds the cats. Total tobacco road.||||It is all very sad because we always liked BW Santee, but now that there is an untruthful queen bee at the front desk who values the ferrel cats more than loyal guests, now that BW Santee is ok with ferrel cats accosting guests and now that BW Santee has let their pet friendly rooms become tobacco road we will just have to find a new...

Great location for our visit here looking at properties. great breakfast and staff was friendly. It always surprises me that people don't tip the breakfast buffet workers, they work so hard and so early. Room was clean and I like the fact that there are no rugs, but the floor is very slippery and my white socks got filthy. I don't think they are washed, just swept. Desk staff was friendly but they should have told me before my 4th night that they never give out my room for more than one night because of the complaints. Here's what happens, you get in your very cozy bed and then the door next door starts slamming, not sure why until the first night. The room next door is the ice, laundry, snack room. On your way out it slams over and over. Then it starts up again in the early am with the cleaning staff. I hate to complain so I forgot about it until we were settled in bed at 11pm night two. Then it started again in the am. On night three I moved the bookcases with brochures against the door to keep it open and that did the trick, until the cleaning crew arrived in the am. When I checked out the girl at the desk said my room had a note that said "don't change room" she had no idea why but said we never use that room, you should have said something. Well she is correct I should have but lesson learned for the next guy. If you are a light sleeper do not accept this room. I should have asked for some money back once she...

I really enjoyed my stay here. This hotel is located right off of 95. Great place to stay when traveling to and from Florida like I did or just if you want a clean hotel for overnight. This hotel allows dogs. Checkin was easy. The staff was very nice. I had a king bed room which was spacious. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows and very comfortable mattress. There was a recliner also in my room. The room itself was very clean, neat and organized. In the bedroom was a large cabinet was a refrigerator and microwave built in. In the vanity area was a blow dryer, and coffee pot. In the closet was an iron and ironing board. In the bathroom, the shower had great water pressure and lots of hot water. This hotel has free WiFi and free parking. All the rooms are on the first floor. You can park right in front of your room which makes carrying luggage in and out very easy. In the morning stating at 6a they served a full breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh ham, pancakes, grits, biscuits, sausage gravy, cereal, oatmeal, juices, coffee. Bagels, toast, and muffins, and fresh fruit. Directly 20 feet from my hotel room is a quaint steakhouse called Captain's Quarter's Seafood and Steak, which was good . There are also many other restaurants only 2 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again. It's the...
