Have been going to BW Santee for close to 10 years. Several years ago we were accosted by ferrel cats on dog side of hotel. Every stay since they accommodated us with a room on the other side due to my wife's fear from being attacked as a child. For some reason on this most recent trip the front desk refused to place us in a different part of the hotel. We pushed but got nowhere. We reached out to Corporate who contacted the hotel. They were told 1. They only made exceptions in the past because they were in emergency conditions (not true, we don't travel during emergency conditions), 2. The other alternate rooms have carpets so they don't want pets in them (not true as we have been placed in alternate tiled rooms), 3. They did not want to eat a $200 cleaning fee for letting a pet into a non pet room (does anyone honestly think that BW Santee is charging themselves $200 to clean a tiled room because a small dog stayed in it? This one is insulting) and 4. There is only 1 feral cat (we observed 3 on this trip, more in the past). On top of this a caretaker who lives on the pet side of the hotel sits outside his room and feeds the cats. Total tobacco road.||||It is all very sad because we always liked BW Santee, but now that there is an untruthful queen bee at the front desk who values the ferrel cats more than loyal guests, now that BW Santee is ok with ferrel cats accosting guests and now that BW Santee has let their pet friendly rooms become tobacco road we will just have to find a new...
Read moreGreat location for our visit here looking at properties. great breakfast and staff was friendly. It always surprises me that people don't tip the breakfast buffet workers, they work so hard and so early. Room was clean and I like the fact that there are no rugs, but the floor is very slippery and my white socks got filthy. I don't think they are washed, just swept. Desk staff was friendly but they should have told me before my 4th night that they never give out my room for more than one night because of the complaints. Here's what happens, you get in your very cozy bed and then the door next door starts slamming, not sure why until the first night. The room next door is the ice, laundry, snack room. On your way out it slams over and over. Then it starts up again in the early am with the cleaning staff. I hate to complain so I forgot about it until we were settled in bed at 11pm night two. Then it started again in the am. On night three I moved the bookcases with brochures against the door to keep it open and that did the trick, until the cleaning crew arrived in the am. When I checked out the girl at the desk said my room had a note that said "don't change room" she had no idea why but said we never use that room, you should have said something. Well she is correct I should have but lesson learned for the next guy. If you are a light sleeper do not accept this room. I should have asked for some money back once she...
Read moreI really enjoyed my stay here. This hotel is located right off of 95. Great place to stay when traveling to and from Florida like I did or just if you want a clean hotel for overnight. This hotel allows dogs. Checkin was easy. The staff was very nice. I had a king bed room which was spacious. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows and very comfortable mattress. There was a recliner also in my room. The room itself was very clean, neat and organized. In the bedroom was a large cabinet was a refrigerator and microwave built in. In the vanity area was a blow dryer, and coffee pot. In the closet was an iron and ironing board. In the bathroom, the shower had great water pressure and lots of hot water. This hotel has free WiFi and free parking. All the rooms are on the first floor. You can park right in front of your room which makes carrying luggage in and out very easy. In the morning stating at 6a they served a full breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh ham, pancakes, grits, biscuits, sausage gravy, cereal, oatmeal, juices, coffee. Bagels, toast, and muffins, and fresh fruit. Directly 20 feet from my hotel room is a quaint steakhouse called Captain's Quarter's Seafood and Steak, which was good . There are also many other restaurants only 2 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again. It's the...
