I thought long and hard about anything that might have knocked this property from five stars to four stars, and I could not think of anything. From beginning to end this was a great stay. I particularly want to highlight some things that made this particular Hampton inn exceptional. First would be the staff. Each staff person encountered was hands down perfect. I particularly appreciate the wonderful woman at breakfast who gave us the most cheerful good morning I've ever heard. You know who you are! Thank you! You made my husband's day 🙂. The breakfast food was stand-out as well. The night prior to this stay we were at a Hampton inn up in Virginia and while it was very good, the breakfast at this location was far superior. The cut up fresh strawberries with blueberries, French toast sticks, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, grits, biscuits with sausage gravy, yogurt, muffins. I know I'm forgetting a few things, but that breakfast is awesome. It's also great that it does not end until 10:00 a.m. We are not early risers so we appreciate the hours of the breakfast here. Upon entering the room the television welcomes you by name. You have to read it of course it doesn't actually talk lol. The room is laid out very nicely and has everything you need. There is even a perfect night light in the bathroom. Not too bright not too dim. Too many places do not provide a nightlight in the bathroom. The room itself was very clean, dark when you closed the dual shades, and very quiet. Even the heater was pretty quiet. Not the quietest I've ever heard, but not the loudest. The fitness room was really good. My husband is pretty picky with his fitness equipment and he was pretty impressed with what was provided here. I loved that not only were there ice machines but there was fresh water provided. Too many places overlook the fact that travelers need water. We are Hilton silver members so we get two bottles of water upon arrival, but I'm sure there are many people who just walk in without that membership so if you are one of them, look for that water. Not all of the Hilton properties have this from my experience. This is getting long so I'll just point out one last thing. I appreciate that the company provides soaps and shampoos in both containers attached to the wall. They are refillable. I cringe when I see all those tiny little bottles and other hotels. So wasteful. These are decent products and it makes so much sense to use these refillable...
Read moreSue Kinley, the general manager literary saved my family and my life! I know it sounds sensational but the truth is the truth. Calling her an angel is an understatement. We stayed there this past week because our rental car was having issues on our ride form Florida to New York to work with at-risk youth and give back to that community. We have never been to this area and do not know anyone in this town. We decided to stay at the hotel and deal with the issue in the morning. When we looked under the hood, it was a catastrophic issue that stopped us in our tracks. We called the rental company and they picked up the car. They tried to send us an Uber, Lyft, and a cab, but had no luck locating one. We had no options and no idea on how we would get to our destination, let alone to an airport or the rental car company over an hour away. Stressed, a bit afraid, and losing hope, her light pierced through the darkness we were experiencing. With no questions asked, she told us to grab our things and drove us over an hour away to the rental company. She did not allow us to pay her in any way. The even bigger part of the whole situation is her friendliness and compassion for our situation. We had great conversations, and she made us feel like everything was going to be okay. This was not her job or responsibility, but she took on the challenge and refused to leave one of her guests stranded. She did not know who we were or what we were doing, but she made a difference. By going above and beyond, she got us back on the road. This was a special trip as we were heading back to my old neighborhood to give children the assistance they needed. She made a huge impact on our lives and, in turn, the lives of the people we were on the way to serve. Showing us how great a human can be. Thank you for what you did, Sue. You gave your organization a great name in our book. God bless you and again, thank you from the bottom...
Read moreI would have really liked to give this hotel a five star rating. The decor was nice, the rooms were clean and updated. The staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was tasty, abundant and appealing. Plenty of parking. Unfortunately I can not do that due to total ineptness and lack of caring on behalf of the owners or this establishment.
I booked a stay through the HIlton Honors website. My reservation included a premium room of a one bedroom suite, the premium room also included premium internet access ( supposed to be faster) and included $10 of retail credit. When I checked in by a very nice young man, I was given a studio suite and was told that have no one bedroom suites even though the HIlton Website allowed me to book one at their hotel. I asked about the retail credit and the high speed internet and was told they need to research the rate I booked under and had no idea how to deliver the other benefits. I was actually told to called HIlton Honors to tell the hotel how to fulfill what I ordered and paid for. The gentleman at the front desk while trying to be helpful but evidently not properly trained, finally havingnot being able to figure what to do, said he would have the owners’s reach out to me. The owner or owners never did. So after seeing that they do not train their staff, allow people to make reservations on the website for rooms that do not exist, don’t even reach out to guests after they are asked to, they simply do not care. Total lack of integrity in running a...
