Just stayed here for two nights with a group for the local medieval faire. Our rooms were slightly outdated, but clean, which was more important to us. The beds were also comfortable. The people who work here are also very nice as well.
Unfortunately, we probably wonât stay here again. I want to make it clear that the issues are not the fault of this locationâs staff. To start, we tried to book on the app. It was a prepaid rate, and initially, we only wanted one room. However I was charged twice for the booking, as it turned out the app booked us twice. When told by a representative it would be âtoo difficult to refund the second roomâ we decided to keep it, and add two more friends to our group. No big deal.
Then, comes our actual stay. Within an hour of being checked in, I was charged an extra $61 dollars on a prepaid room. I asked the following morning about this charge, and the person said it may have been room rate change, but even she wasnât sure why I was charged if the room was already paid, and they were going to find a solution and refund. So then when I check out the following day, the woman at the desk also said she was going to fix the rate for me. Less than ten minutes after getting checked out, I was again charged $61. So, I was charged an additional $120 on our stay, in a prepaid room.
Again, I donât blame the actual hotel staff, but this is very frustrating for a room to be advertised a âlockedâ rate if you prepay, and then get charged for the rate increase on your actual stay. On top of being double booked. When I had initially budgeted for spending roughly $250 on a stay, we ended up paying nearly $540.
Itâs also a disappointment because we have stayed at this hotel previously and had no issues, whatsoever. Was the building brand new? No. But the rooms were always clean, staff is kind, and it was a good budget friendly...
Read moreThis was my first time staying at a Red Roof Inn, likely last. FYI, I'm not a picky person and I didn't expect anything beyond a simple hotel. On a roadtrip east and needed to stop at an affordable spot for one night. After a quick google search pictures looked OK so we checked it out. Got a room on a far end of the building. The room had dead and living bugs (not infested but 2 right out of the gate, caught one in a cup). The AC/heater was moldy and we opted not to turn it on and remain cold during the night. Breakfast was meager and wrapped and had signs explicit NOT to bring it back to rooms (bugs?) even though there are fridges and microwaves in the rooms? Shower made a horrible screeching noise throughout. Towels had makeup and stain marks on them. Toilet paper holders were rusted and grimy. We weren't feeling well and wanted to leave ASAP. As we go to the parking lot, our parked car was hit overnight and the taillight was broken. We were VERY annoyed (there are signs saying they are not liable so no point in complaining to them) and I just asked if they could get some footage from cameras. The manager said "oh our guy that knows how to use the cameras was up all night. I really don't want to wake him." I proceeded to leave my contact info for when they could get something and never got any response back, video or even a "sorry" or anything. At no point did I disrespect the staff and I was very reasonable about the situation. Just avoid this place and pony up the +$ more across the street at the Holiday Inn. I feel bad for the girls at the front desk, they were nice but the management and maintenance seems to not care to have...
Read moreIf they gave awards for the worst hotel, this is definitely an award winner. When i first got here about 1130pm i walked in on 2 employees talking about how they had to call the police on some of the guests staying here....made me question the security of the place with in the first moment of arrival. My room....a/c sounds like a freight train and is barely keeping up with the 65 degrees it was set at when the outside temp was 75. The tub will not drain. I spoke to the front desk and she was sending the maintenance person. Apparently they came and got it to drain slowly and when I say slowly I mean the second coming of Jesus is moving faster. When I walked up the the front desk again to inquire about the fix, I was told they are full, it needs to be ripped out and replaced. They have no other rooms so I just have to deal with it. (Unfortunately everything was booked around us) so the 3 of us can shower about every 7 hours or stand in each other's dirty shower water. My daughters room....A/C completely not working at thank goodness they had a box fan with them or it would have been completely miserable for them. The bathroom has mold growing in the shower. None of the bathrooms have exhaust fans. This is bad for 2 reasons 1 the mold 2 hope everything you eat agrees with cuz the stink is going to stay for a long time. My daughter also plugged in her charger for her phone and the box next to the TV sparked at her. My advice stay away from here until they do some...
