August 20, 2022 at 10:10pm my husband and adult son and I stopped for something to eat on our way home from the Sharon speedway. We had a 3 hr drive ahead of us. We ordered and while we were being patient and waiting quietly, a loud bunch of people came in and filled the bar seats and one table. They were adults and a couple teenage kids. They were yelling back and forth across the restaurant. Then, they started serving the large group before we had even gotten our food. After she had just served a hash brown to their table. Someone said something to our waitress and she told them, i dont know cuz i didnt take your order. So i raised my voice and said but u do know what we ordered cuz u took our order and then i asked why they were getting their food before we were since had been already waiting for over a half and hour for our food. She just said i called it in. So if she had, then the first food made should have been ours. So we just got up and left. So my recommendation is if u like being treated like that and think that is acceptable, then sure go there. But if you think you should be served in the order you arrived and had already placed your order, then maybe not. It wasnt like we ordered anything different than anyone else, waffles and hash browns and eggs. It doesnt take that long to fix. It was truly the worst waffle house experience my family and I have had, we have been to waffle houses up and down the east coast from Ohio to Florida. Whenever waffle house is an option thats where we always go. In Florida my son and i ate there everyday for a week, its just that good. Normally anyways. We won't let this experience keep us from going to other Waffle Houses. But we will NOT b ever stopping at...
Read moreWas busy when we got there, had to sit up at the counter. Pretty much actively ignored by the waitress standing 5 feet away from us for a good 8 minutes. We honestly should have got up and left.
She finally our order. Ten minutes later we got our food, but still, after about 20 minutes I had to ask her again for our drinks we ordered (a couple of Pibbs.)
This condensed menu that WH is running is pretty sad. I used to really enjoy a nice steak and eggs breakfast, which they would do pretty well. I thought that maybe the issue was just the one in Toledo we used to frequent, but I guess it's the whole chain. Almost 30$ for something that would have cost 20 literally anywhere else. The food was okay.
The place wasn't busy in the sense of people cycling through, either. It was just all booths full, some with just one person. They didn't seem especially backlogged, either. I believe there was one mobile order/takeout in the 30 minutes we were there.
Oh, and some small child was eating too fast, and began to choke on what I believe was a piece of bacon. He managed to get it free by vomiting up his breakfast all over their booth. The parent and grandmother with them were super apologetic. But they asked a few different waitresses for something like paper towels to clean it up, and they just seemed completely indifferent. About five minutes go by before someone shows up with a mop and bucket.
So that was nice...
We won't be going back here. I'll get a heat lamp burger from the local gas station before I go through that place again. I would advise going elsewhere to anyone who is hungry and wants...
Read moreI will never patronage a Waffle House and here's why: I went inside with my disabled dad and it was about 1:45pm on a Friday. I had tried calling for the previous 2 days to confirm they could comfortably seat 5 adults and 2 kids. They never answered the phone. When I walked in, they told me to sit where ever. I told them there was 7 of us and I looked around and didn't see somewhere this would work. She said they were closing the entire right side of the building and I could only sit on the left side. I thought she was joking. She pointed to a section with 3 booths back-to-back. First of all, each both only accommodated 4 people, and there was a couple sitting in the middle booth. I told her we all wanted to sit together and she told me I could ASK THE COUPLE TO MOVE OVER 1 BOOTH. I pointed again to the empty section of the restaurant and she said "no", we were not allowed to sit there. I confirmed, since I really couldn't believe what she said, that they wanted us to split between 2 booths with another couple in the middle (during a pandemic). We could sit on top of strangers or ask them to move over 1 section. They knew this was wrong or they would've offered to ask the couple themselves. We left and went across the street to Denny's. That's where I recommend everyone go. Somewhere accommodating and safe...
