Midwest Global Motel — Hotel in Sheldon

I made the mistake of staying here. When I arrived the owner was more than happy to say that he would show me the room first. When I saw the room it looked ok. Its a bed to sleep in and a place to shower in the morning. I was staying for 5 nights. There are microwaves for use but not in each room. Instead there is one per floor that sits on a luggage rack and is plugged in with a extension cord. I didn't mind that much honestly. It was the first morning that I woke up. It took almost 10 minutes to get hot water in the shower. Then that night I saw a cockroach walking across the floor so I killed it but also left it for the owner to see. They pushed it into the corner of the bathroom and left it laying there dead. To their credit they set the trash can on top of it. Then the toilet quit working. It wouldn't flush. Again to their credit they fixed it 2 days later (I let them know it wasn't working right away). If your broke and can't afford anything else its a roof over your head. But I am headed back to Sheldon next week to stay for another 4 nights and it won't be here. ...

Simple basic motel. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the room. It's much better than some motel 6's I've stayed in. Attendants were very nice, even though I woke them up at 1 am. They had one room left for $90 which I snagged since every other town was sold out of rooms. A bit pricey for the quality, but overall not bad. The shower takes a good 5 minutes to get warm water and the ac/heat sounds like a train is going to crash into the building. Still not bad and I'd rather stay here than be falling asleep...

I'm presently passing through the Sheldon Iowa Area. Spending the night at the Midwest Global Motel. This is a very clean nice decent little Motel. The Owners are very nice good Hearted people. Glad I stopped here. I highly recommend this Motel to all Travelers on US 60 North or South. Very Convenient place Microwaves and refridgerators. Very Clean and Comfortable. Thumbs up to this...
