Stayed here for five nights with my husband and dog for a wedding in town. The whole experience was great. All of the staff I've talked to have been really helpful and friendly, especially when we checked in and she gave us the rundown on supplies, housekeeping, and TV. I had also had a package shipped that arrived the day I did, and it was ready for me at the front desk when I checked in.
Because this is an extended stay hotel, the rooms have a full fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and electric stovetop (2 burners). There is also a desk with two chairs, a TV with cable and DVD player (ask for guidance on how to use the remotes!), and a leather recliner. Our queen bed was very comfortable. Temperature is controlled with a "smart" wall thermostat that detects when you've left the room, and our AC worked great during a June heat wave.
There's also a check-out pantry with things like crock pots, blenders, rice cookers, board games, and other items you might need. Hungry? There's a snack pantry where you can buy things like sodas or juices, candy, chips, popcorn, etc.
There's a small fitness room with treadmills, an elliptical trainer, some free weights, and one weight machine. Laundry facilities are open 24 hours and are free. Supplies can be purchased if needed.
We brought our elderly dog with us, and there was a $25 pet fee for the whole stay. There is grass surrounding the sides and back of the building, and they were able to give us a ground level room for easy access to outside.
One day when I was in the room all day I streamed a couple hours of Hulu/Netflix without any problems with the wifi, and regular web surfing was as fast as it is as home.
Finally, the shower was pretty awesome--felt like being under a hot waterfall!
My only suggestion would be to provide doggie poo bags closer to each exit because I saw (and picked up) and LOT of dog poop that other guests had left. I noticed a dispenser, but it was far...

Read moreWe chose the Candlewood Suites because it sounded good and it appeared like it was a great value for the money...and we were pleasantly surprised! This was our first stay at a Candlewood property. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable---a bit small for two but still acceptable. The kitchen was adequately stocked with everything we needed to do our own cooking including a stove top, dishwasher, full sized refrigerator, pots, pans, silverware, and dishes, etc. The internet, however was spotty at best and lost connection many times. We also liked the fact that it was a pet friendly hotel. The other drawback was that although the kitchenette was provided, as travelers who were only staying the night on the way to another destination, we did not want to do our own cooking both at dinner and breakfast...that would include a lot of extra time for shopping for groceries, cooking, cleaning, etc. when we needed to focus more on getting a good night's sleep before hitting the road. This Candlewood property at least provided a 20% off coupon at a restaurant nearby but there is no substitution for having breakfast included and on the premise available in the morning before you leave. All in all,...
