The Old Kasper House Victorian Inn — Hotel in Shiner

A group of us stayed in the Derrich Domov house for a writers' retreat. This place was perfect! Each of us had our own bedroom with our own bathroom. We were able to work and visit and spread out. Each evening we went to one of the surrounding communities and ate some delicious food.|There are games available to play and satellite television.|The place is quiet; the owner lives right across the street. We had a small plumbing issue that was taken care of within a couple hours.|Downtown is a very short drive away, and you could easily see a performance at the Gaslight Theater. Or you could visit the Spoetzel Brewery. If you plan to see the Painted Churches, this is a perfect place to stay.|The only thing we had to do when we left was take out the trash.|I would highly recommend Old Kaspar House if you find yourself in Central Texas. I planned a stay for my wife's birthday so we could do a tour of Shiner brewery. I picked the wrong time, the week end was completely booked for a wedding. I was startling to be disappointed when Cindy, the owner suggested the honeymoon cottage as an alternative if I move my stay a day earlier. What a perfect choice, my wife was surprised when I told her I have booked the honeymoon cottage.||Our two day stay could have been better, the accommodations were perfect for us and the weather could not have been any better.||||Across the street they also run a nursery with lots of interesting plants, some were perfect for a birthday gift.||All in all it the stay couldn't have been any better. What a gem! My fiancé and I decided to head to Shiner and tour the Spoetzl brewery. We checked in on Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning. Cindy was such a lovely host and was helpful with suggestions. The accommodations couldn't have been more ideal! We spent the evenings in her Prost Party Barn, drinking Shiner, and getting to visit with other people who were staying on the property. The barn was stocked with everything from corn hole to Jenga and was playing old country music at just the right volume. The jetted tub in our cottage was wonderful and she had the kitchen stocked for a coffee service. She also has a small nursery with yard art and I picked up an adorable fox for my front porch.
