Our stay at Morton House Inn was like being welcomed into a dear friend’s home, wrapped in the heart of Shipshewana’s Amish charm. Von and Tobi, the owners, have poured their heart and souls into this historic 1880s gem, and it shows in every detail. The smell of the home is incredible!||The suite was a dream—spotless, with a plush queen bed, soft linens, and a rainfall shower that melted the day’s travel away. Donuts and coffee that kept flowing, all in a sunlit dining room that begged me to linger.||Being steps from downtown’s shops and the flea market made exploring effortless, but it was the quiet moments—like hearing horse-drawn buggies pass by as you wake or sipping coffee on the porch—that stole our hearts.||Von and Tobi’s love for Shipshewana shines through, from their quick text check-ins to the way they’ve honored the inn’s history while updating it with care. Read moreOh what a warm and welcoming home. This home has many original features. 🥰 All of the rooms are very clean. Each sleeping room has a washroom attached which was a big deal to me. We booked the Nunn, which is on the lower level, off the front room. The front room is large enough to comfortably share with other guest if you chose to. There is also a smaller sitting room off the back of the kitchen that has a beautiful piano. Tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture. The dining room has multiple tables to sit at as well as seating in the kitchen...which is equipped with all you need, except for food. They do stock the fridge with; soda, a Keurig with coffee and cocoa cups are provided, plus 2 refrigerators to put food in. Of course, that's if cooking is part of your plan. (Surely was not mine!) The owners are very kind and accommodating. Both the front and back doors were coded before our arrival, as well as our room door. Would we stay here again? Definitely. 😉 Would we recommend the Morton Street Inn to others? Definitely. If you had smaller children, they could possibly be bored, BUT there is DirecTV attached to every TV. Hope someone finds this...
