Yoder Department Store — Local services in Shipshewana

I hate going into this place. It reeks of discount store, though I see they have pricey shoes there.

There's too much That's too hard to find. The signage is hard to find and so are the employees.

When I finally discovered a manned checkout, I had to wait while they tried desperately to find someone who could make the person in front' s purchase ring up at the marked discount. IT was gone so they ended up calling HR (?) - who knows if she made it work or if that shopper is still there waiting.

When another cashier was available the thread I was buying rang up at almost 4 times the price the sign had said it would be. I didn't bother contesting it. I felt like it was worth the $3.20 to get out of the store before night fell.

I only go here out of desperation, but I avoid...

This is a great place to stop and shop while you are in Shipshewana IN. They have two fabric shops. One is at the front to the right. It is a store that carries Bernina sewing machines as well as fabric and sewing supplies. Across the way is a shoe store, clothing, and another fabric area. The shoes have Skechers, Clark's, Birkenstocks and other brands. Anything from boots to dress and casual shoes. There is a clothing area which had some cute winter vests and plain long sleeve shirts to wear underneath the best. Across from the shoes clothing and fabrics is a hardware type area. You can find canning items, kitchen items, glassware, dishes, home decor, things you can't find other places. There is a chocolate and ice cream area. It is worth the stop just to...

I am in disbelief the way you treated my mother yesterday in your store. She was all excited to go shopping. While in your store, a young female associate approached her and told her in order to be in the store she had to wear a mask. My mom explained to her due to health issues she could not wear a mask. The lady said “it is the law and you have to wear one” First off is it NOT a law, second off even to approach my mom was an insult, you can clearly see hose going from her nose to her oxygen machine she is carrying with her! She tried again to explain to her that she cannot wear a mask and the woman rudely told her if she did not put one on then she has to leave the store. Really?
