Our power was out following the storm on Thursday. We stayed at this hotel and it was pretty good. Unfortunately the first room we were checked into had no power. The second and third rooms, which had been marked clean and ready by Housekeeping, were both dirty. My heart went out to the young man at the front desk- working all alone and juggling many tasks. Surely this wasn’t his fault as he was given a sheet of clean and ready rooms that were not clean or ready. Once we found a room that was clean, ready and had power, we were somewhat dismayed to find the bare minimum of things one usually finds in an extended stay hotel such as these. Having worked in the hospitality industry for many years ( bellman, valet, Doorman, Houseman, front desk agent, night auditor and finally Concierge) and having reserved many hotel rooms and extended stay suites, I was definitely surprised to find only a stovetop, microwave, sink and refrigerator in this room. Maybe it’s our fault because we didn’t look into it before booking but I expected dishware, utensils, cookware, coffee maker and the usual kitchen items I’ve found in other properties. I asked the next day about dishware and the young lady at the front desk ( no name tag ), who seemed unsure, said they “ Did have these things “ but offered no other information aside from pointing to a pallet of goods in the lobby that had just been delivered. 3 months since opening and the property seems to be “ not ready for guests “ in many ways. I welcome the opportunity to speak with management about how they could improve service and manage expectations. Overall, the only somewhat good impression was security. Guest must use their keycard to access the floors via elevator however the main interior door in the lobby that accesses the small community area, while requiring key card access, was completely unlocked - allowing anyone to enter ( and negating the elevator security ). This property was clean and the beds were comfortable. Minimal toiletries in the bath but ample towels and no wait for hot water. I’ll give it another try once things are “ truly ready”. Housekeeping needs to be admonished for sure for misrepresenting clean rooms and management should staff accordingly so the responsibility of verifying those clean rooms can not be delegated to the only person at...
Read moreWe found this place to be new and basically clean. There was only one chair in our room that resembled a kitchen chair.... not built for comfort. We could have used a second chair since our room was for 2 guests.
There was a full size refrigerator, microwave, and a 2 burner stove top. No coffee, coffee pot, utensils, plates, pots, bowls, etc. We brought our own toaster, silverware, plates, paper towels, coffee press and coffee. The kitchen is bare - so you have to bring your own everything.
The mattress was comfortable, no box spring AND the mattress was enclosed in a bed bug mattress cover. I've had experience with BB's and the fact that they are proactive in the prevention is good.
Our room was entirely handicap accessible, but the doors entering the facility were heavy and you had to push to open. I don't recall seeing a way of opening them automatically.
The staff was friendly but scarce. They seemed to be away from the desk quite often.
We noticed that the walls were very thin. The couple next to us was just talking in a normal tone and their voice sounded like it was in our room. We also received a call from the front desk asking if we were playing music loudly about 11 pm. We weren't, so it must have been another room. 11 pm is late to be calling a room.... we could have been sleeping. I would think that a staff member could have walked up to find which room was playing music.
My one biggest complaint is that the "free" internet was useless. I could get in my email but could not do anything but read. I couldn't download anything, open anything, etc.... it just plain stunk. You could only have 2 devices connected. For around $5 a day you can upgrade the wifi. I went elsewhere for my wifi.
There are vending machines with a variety of food, beverages, and self-care options in the lobby area.
Also - they have strict rules about smoking - but I could smell pot all down the hallway, several times.
They do not clean the rooms daily - they clean the rooms and change the linens every 14 days, or between guest stays.
These are just some observations... all in all the hotel served it's purpose and we were basically happy. We had a pleasant stay. You can't beat the price. We would probably consider staying there again should we be...
Read morePlease do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel at all cost! These people are rude and will make false accusations on you. I stayed there for 1 week and on my second week they told me that I had to leave the room cause I left trash outside the door, which I did; it was in trash bags and put on the corner of the hallway in nobody's way. Plus, I have always seen people put trash outside their doors. There is nothing wrong with that, especially if they dont clean your room for more than 10 days. Moreover, they didnt had trash cans near the elevators the only trash cans were outside and which were all full to the top. Plus elevator has been broken for more than 2 weeks and I dont even know if is fixed to this date. I told them that I refuse to leave cause in my opinion leaving trash outside the door is not bad; they told me that they had warn me already which was a lie and also accuse me of smoking in the room; first of all I never smoke in my life!!! They did that just to justify to get me out, which it work cause they did call the police and I had to leave the room. The police cant do anything to help you even if they the hotel management is falsely accusing you. I left cause I wasnt even going to stay in a hotel that I didnt felt safe, cause I was afraid these people would accuse me of other things or go into my room and do malicious stuff. End of the story, they refuse to refund the remaining days that I had in my reservation and is still showing that Im checked in. Just look how this management are! Stealing my money! But is ok, I will never stay in Wyndham hotels. I have already contacted Wyndham hotels to see what can be done, cause I had travel for work for more than 20 years and have been in different hotels all over the country and never had an issue like this. This is not fair and the consumer should't be...
