So I usually come here because you can get decent cuts of steak and itās pretty tasty. Itās just so hit or miss. This is now the 3rd time Ive come here and the person preparing the steak has no idea about proper temperature. Iām not surprised that this is the type of restaurant where you have to tell them you want a medium rare just so you can get something closer to medium. Even still sometimes their version of medium rare is medium well. Nevertheless itās still very delicious. However, they will scream at you that a cut of steak is medium in a forceful manner almost as if theyāre hoping your response is to just take it and go. Well, I paid my money and Iām only here for the steakā¦I donāt want anything more than medium and I will tolerate a medium well. However tonight is just ridiculous. It took me longer than 10 minutes to scream under the screen (over top of prepared food btw) to let the guy know I didnāt want any of the well done steaks heās trying to convince me are all medium. Then he angrily slices open a steak thatās practically blue (more rare than rareā¦basically raw) and says āwhat about this then!ā. Very rude, very ghetto, just terrible service thatās not hospitable. I literally spent almost 30 minutes trying to just get a decent cut of steak. One of the managers got a raw steak and tried to cook one for me but I could tell because at this point they were preparing to close theyād turned the grill off. Smh. Anyone who likes to eat steak knows you need to have high heat on when cooking steak to get the perfect crust. All in all the last steak took an additional 20 minutes and it was still raw with no crust. I had to bring it back. The other manager who was actually very helpful in the beginning definitely listened to my concerns but I could tell, as she started focusing on my flyaways in my hair instead of looking at me, that she was tired of the entire situation. She started to slightly gaslight me into believing I just was not happy because according to her all of their steaks were perfect. Even though another manager had came over and agreed they were all well done. She claimed it was the glass thatās in the way that causes them to look like theyāre fully cooked. Then she said it was somehow the lighting thatās so different on their side that an optical illusion occurs where the steak is actually pink in the middle from their angle but to the customers itās so brown and well done that the steak looks grey when they slice it open. Smh She did give me my money back. Unfortunately so much time was wasted that all grocery stores are closed now and Iām currently at the Silver Diner down the street having a glass of decent red wine and waiting for dinner. I will never waste my time at that place and will just go to Buckheads Chop House for steak. I promise you, Buckheads is worth the price, they have amazing wine, and you donāt deal with this type of time consuming exhausting nonsense and when you leave you literally feel like youāve had an iron infusion and a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSometimes you just want to eat you don't want to wait for 2 hours you don't want to have a limited selection of food you just want to taste several different items, create your own meal and call it a day. Golden Corral is a place that seniors and children get excited about more than the ages in between. I think it's a pretty good place to get in and get out you don't feel rushed and the food is pretty tasty. What you do have to watch is the habits of the customers. I tried to get what I want the first time. That way I don't have to keep getting up and down and I limit myself as to how much I eat because it's quite easy to go overboard. So I just basically get samples and then if it's something that I really like I'll go back once. The servers are really nice and even though it's self-serve they check back with you frequently enough that you're not looking for someone to help you or serve you/refail your beverages. I've been there for breakfast lunch mainly, not much for dinner since I've retired. They have a lot of items that kids love especially in the dessert line with the cookies the chocolate fruit and marshmallow fountain and cotton candy. Many restaurants are closing since the pandemic so go while you can I don't think Golden Corral will be one affected as long as the food is good and the service is satisfactory. I don't know about other Golden Corrals I just know this one and the one in Williamsburg. A friend was telling me that the one in Maryland has discounts at special times and they also have a senior price. Between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. there may be another discount but I will check whatever...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpon entering the cups were freshly washed and still dirty looking. My daughter got a lemonade and luckily before she drunk it, she smelt it and it was nothing but dishwasher sanitizer still on the glass. Seating here was challenging as we had a group of 8 and the tables were spread out with people scattered everywhere as a table of only 4. Having some tables set up for bigger groups should really be an option ahead of time. Not a lot of food options as most golden corrals on the buffet but I will say this was a first location I've ever experienced that the vegetables on there were actually seasoned with flavor and cooked amazingly well not just steamed and thrown on there. The steak was amazing!!!! Kudos to the man cooking those! Now, the part that got us... my daughter is a professional chef and got a piece of chicken that was freshly put out over a bed of rice and a "sauce/gravy" over top... that chicken was RAW as raw could get. We informed the waitress who got the manager to our table. She said it was the "seasoning" and "overnight marinade" that caused the chicken to look like it did, that it wasn't raw. That piece of chicken was clearly pink on the inside and the texture of it was most definitely raw. She then went to temp the chicken while it was sitting on the steamtable over the large pan of rice and said she spoke with the kitchen manager and he verified it was their seasonings. If she would have ate that chicken and gotten sick, food poisoning and getting a lawyer could have been...
