You have to go through U.S. Center Motel to book a place here. The clerk called to ask if the apartment was ready, and was told that it was. Took the key and stopped to eat before we headed to the apartment. Mistake. Should have went and turned the air on first then went to eat. The room was so hot it was like getting into a car in the middle of the day. We got to the room at 10 and it was 4 in the morning before it even cooled down enough to be kind of comfortable. There were 2 air conditioning units in the room and the smaller one that looked like it should be garbage worked, better than the big one, but neither worked well enough to cool the room they were in. Couldn't open the 1 window in the place. Don't plan on being able to bend over in the shower or adjust the shower head so it's not blasting you in the face while your trying to shampoo your hair....
Read moreWe were so worn out and we could no drive another second so we stoped to get a room after leaving the cozy little cafea cross the street we kinda got snowed in so we stayed a couple of days thete were no critters or bugs in the rooms the rooms were really clean they had little icebox, and a toaster oven in a great location we ended up with the onsight manager asking us if needed any thing else the only thing i could ask for more on would be a icemaker that was conveniant for the hole motel.we ate to be returning in 7 months and we will be booking here. This was quiet,and hardly no sounds from outside we slept like baby's. We shall return and i must add for the on going construction the place was just like i said peaceful. Read moreWhen you are this far out on the Great Plains looking for a place to stay, the Prairie Winds Motel is not a bad choice. You get a relatively clean room, relatively small, relatively comfortable with free wifi, a microwave & a fridge. There are 3 motels in Smith Cener. They looked similar but the Prairie View had several vehicles in the parking lot while the others were empty.||||What the heck are you doing, looking at motels in the middle of Kansas, anyway? We were traveling cross country avoiding the Interstates. US 36 was our choice. But there are very few hotels, no major chain hotels at all. So you wind up choosing from the remaining mom & pop places.||||Bob the owner will check you in. If we ever pass through here again, the Prairie View would be a relatively good...
