I’ll start with the positives before discussing the negatives. It’s really close to Pinnacles National Park - 20 minutes from the West entrance and 1 hour from the East Entrance. The front desk worker was friendly and helpful. Connected to the motel is a restaurant called the Windmill (I think that’s what it’s called), which was really good. We had dinner and breakfast there. After a long day of hiking, I think having a good restaurant nearby is a plus. You can shower and walk over for a decent meal. There’s also a Taco Bell and McD’s at walking distance. Now for the negatives, our room was in desperate need of a deep cleaning. The headboards and AC unit were dusty, the shower curtain had brown stains on it, and the sheets were stained. The overall feel of the room was dusty and a bit grimy. Nevertheless, the front desk worker was very responsive and quickly brought us new sheets and towels so that helped. Also it looked like the motel had been remodeled in recent years so that helped too. With a good deep-cleaning, this place could be nice. With that said, I could have dealt with the dust and even some of the grime (you get what you pay for and this place was economical). The worst part, and the main reason I’m giving this place 1 star, was that their tub was extremely slippery. My dad slipped while showering and really hurt himself. I feel like they should have known the tub was dangerously slippery. They didn’t mention anything, not even a passing warning, or even provide a rubber mat like other places do. My dad injured his leg in the fall and spent the whole night unable to sleep from the pain. We were unable to go hiking the next morning in Pinnacles, which was the reason we stayed there in the first place. They are lucky no one has died from a fall. They are going to end up getting sued one of these days if they don’t do something...
Read moreWorst room/experience we had related to a hotel in my life. I go to the front to check in and there is a 11 year old boy sitting at the counter. Thinking this was just someone's kid I ask him to get someone to check me in, and he asks my last name and checks me in! I ask about the AARP Discount and he gets another girl who is 17, who cant answer, then Gary comes out. He was upset because the card was digital and he could not swipe it. The room was filthy, there was dirt all over the floor, a bunch of dead flies everywhere, the gap under the door to outside was enough for me to fit my whole hand under. There was a used feminine product behind the toilet and the room entry door did not latch correctly. We waited for our friends to check into the next room, and they did not have a large gap, nor issues with the door. The manager - Gary was saying this gap is how it should be, so I said how should it be like this when this room does not have a gap? He said that room was special. I said I wanted to move rooms and he said there were no other rooms available, they were all booked. Ok so we contemplated leaving and finding another hotel or sticking it out. He then came to the room and showed me another room that had a door that locked correctly, but the room was dirty as well. He said he would clean it but I said forget it, I was not sure how long it would take, nor what other issues the room could have. After about 10 minutes we decided to check out and get a refund. Well I guess we are past the 30 minute window to get a refund by 3 minutes, so after arguing with Gary I said screw it. We went upstairs packed and left early without a refund. Motel 6 was great, they were able to refund my purchase. I may give them another opportunity, but I will never come back...
Read moreWe have stayed in this hotel for over 15 years, since way before it became a Motel 6 ( used to be Soledad Valley Harvest Inn) and we never had issues before. The experience this Memorial Day weekend was horrible. They "remodeled" the rooms, but the bathroom was the same with a very low flow Moen shower valve and hard to operate. There weren't any hangers to hang our clothes, no clothes Iron to iron our dress shirts. The sink was clogged and draining slow. They no longer have a chair for you sit and do work or use a laptop. The plastic shower curtains were dirty with what looked like mold, mattress was comfortable, but bed frames made of metal very unstable. The Breakfast that was provided before, which was coffee, tea, orange juice, milk with a bagel or sweet bread is non existent, the coffee machine is in the Lobby now and that was all that was offered. the room where we used to be able to sit and have the breakfast was closed and used as storage for maintenance supplies. Oh yeah, but the prices for the rooms have increased. Only giving one star because the Folger coffee was good. Oh and they don't honor the AAA discount that is advertised in their window, even after we asked them over the phone when we made the...
