Teriyaki Express — Restaurant in Soledad

A hidden gem!!

I stumbled on Teriyaki Express as a complete "why not" moment and I'm happy to report it was a gamble I'm glad I took.

I tried just the safe can chicken teriyaki meal and while the cool time was a bit lengthy the food was more than worth the wait. What I can't express here enough is the freshness of the food itself! The broccoli perfectly crisp, the home made pickled cucumbers(a surprise delight as I hate cucumbers normally) and rice all delicious and with very generous portions! This isn't even counting much better than expected chicken. I love supporting this small family business. Super kind and friendly family. This is the best teriyaki place near my work. I only stick to the teriyaki dishes, so not sure what other dishes on the menu are like. Galbi rib plate with tempera veggies, or steam veggies if your healthy are always made to perfection. The chicken teriyaki bowl is great for smaller portions and chicken is on point. Both recommended dishes if you're stopping by your first time and don't know what to order. Update: Went back the 2nd day and ordered the Chicken Katsu with Tempura veggies. Another home run. The portions were very generous and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Soledad is no culinary capital and so my expectation was low when we ordered the Bento and the chicken teriyaki bowl. Wow, it was surprisingly good. The presentation was good and the portion was very good. The food was hot and tasty. My combo Bento box came with shrimp tempura, salad and generous amount of chicken and beef. I really enjoyed them.
