I read the reviews and took into consideration that many were written several months and/or years ago. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, I assumed that although the hotel is very old that there had to have been some changes in that time. Unfortunately, those reviews from 5 years ago are still very much accurate. The hotel itself was very attractive; however, it smelled horribly. I bought air fresheners for the room and bathroom along with spraying everything down with Lysol. The area on the 1st floor near entry door 3 smelled like a cat had a field day spraying in it. We did have a fridge in our room; however by day 2 the seal along the door had worked itself away from the door which meant the door did not close. We checked in at approximately 2:50pm, I went to the room to turn on the a/c. We did some running around and returned to the room after 6:00pm. The temperature in the hallway was great; however the room was 80 degrees. I saw the engineer in the hallway and mentioned it to him. He said he would check it out, never showed up. I went to the front desk, the desk clerk contacted the engineer via radio (I witnessed this), engineer never showed up. I called the front desk the following day to be told that there were 2 engineers on duty and that they would send someone up to check it out. NO ENGINEER SHOWED UP! I contacted the front desk once again and was asked by the desk clerk if we were facing the courtyard or the parking lot b/c if we were facing the parking lot she would recommend that we OPEN THE WINDOW!!! (Thanks a lot)!! As I was checking out I was asked by the desk clerk how my stay was. I gave a smirk and stated “as well as can be expected in an 80 degree hotel room with an elderly person” and continued to collect my paperwork as the front desk supervisor never even looked up. The young lady that checked us in and Bianca at the front desk were the most pleasurable experience about the entire stay. As it is located right off of the Turnpike, they will continue to get business which is why they probably have made no attempt at making any upgrades or anything. I can only say, for the family that was looking to check in and was told they were booked, if you had to sleep in your car in the parking lot and bathe in the lobby restroom, you got a much better deal…trust me on this! I gave one star only because I had to in order to rate...

Completely exhausted, traveling with a moving truck and family members, including a cat, I booked this hotel because my brother said that they had a reasonable pet policy. He was right about that, but not about anything else.
I checked us in, answered a few questions that I have no memory of now because I was so tired, and then got my family into our room. As soon as the door shut behind us, the phone started ringing. I answered it, and it was the person from the front desk, saying, “You booked the room for yourself, but there are three people in your room.”
I was confused, because I’d said at the desk that we had a cat. I pointed this out to the person on the phone, and they said they would still be charging me an additional ten dollars. I sort of shrugged this off, a little irritated but too tired to argued, and went on with my night.
In the morning, I noticed that little sign on the back of the door that explains room charges. Guess what didn’t change based on the number of occupants? The price of the room.
So, I was irritated even more, and when the Quality Inn survey came that asked me about my experience, I told them that I didn’t appreciate the extra charge, nor did I appreciate being spied upon as I enter the hotel. I felt that the spying was ridiculous, especially when the room charge listed on the back of the door didn’t change when more occupants were added.
Another thing I found out—I went back to the Quality Inn website, just to see if I could add more occupants if I wanted to. Turns out, even if I select the room that states it has a 4-person occupancy, once you go to book that room, it switches to having only 2 guests. I could not find a way to change it to more on the website. So, even if I had thought to add more people in my exhausted state, I couldn’t have.
Quality Inn reached out to me and basically said, “Hey, you didn’t book 3 people, so we charged you extra. Please don’t share this review.”
So, naturally, I am sharing this review.
I feel like this location took advantage of my exhaustion—I was not in a place to argue or explain at the time of this incident. Besides, there’s no reason to charge an additional fee for something that’s not normally charged at all.
And spying on guests is just...
Read moreI stayed here for a week and was very pleasantly surprised, for the staff and management were both very nice and conscientious, the room was clean, and it was generally quiet. Yes, it IS an older property and, yes, there are ongoing maintenance issues but the manager works hard to stay on top of such things. My room, for example, had a TV remote that didn't function 100% (no direct channel entry, so one had to go up or down through the channels instead... Not a big deal.) and a bad switch in the bathroom (one of the old heat-lamp timer switches that simply wouldn't stay on but there was more than sufficient light from the indirect lighting around the mirror). Furniture was a little worn (if it's not brand new, that's to be expected, though) but clean. The carpet in the room was clean and didn't leave black soles on socks... The bed and pillows and bedding were also clean and more comfortable than average. The microwave and fridge worked properly, though the central heat/air is a wee bit loud. I often wake in the middle of the night and go outside to smoke (yep, nasty habit) but not once during my stay did I see or hear anything or anyone in the halls or outside that seemed sketchy. The grounds were well kept and I noticed the trash being picked up several times. There is also room for 10-15 trucks in the rear parking lot adjacent to the local Flight 93 memorial and flagpole. Not once did I discover any form of bugs. I haven't any pets but be aware that if you do, you will be charged a pet fee (I love pets but think it's a fair charge from ANY motel. Service dogs are the exception but, please, DON'T abuse the system and attempt to claim your ankle-biter is a service dog! 🙄 ). If you're looking for a brand new motel with zero wear and tear, stop shopping for rooms on a budget, for this isn't it (and you've no need to complain about tile colors or anything silly along those lines lol). But, if you're looking for clean lodging and conscientious staff, this is an excellent choice. Thanks for a very...
