Just awesome, authentic Mexican yummy goodness and very friendly service. We stopped here for lunch on our way to Pittsburgh and so happy that we did!! They were very generous with their chips and salsa which were excellent. All our dishes tasted great--the steak adobado, chicken flautas (my fave), chicken enchiladas, chicken tacos. Their rice tasted amazing by itself; I was perfectly happy eating it with just their fresh guacamole! I will say that the only negative point during our visit (nothing too terrible!) was that we could still smell the floor cleaner as they had just opened when we arrived. Very happy that the place is clean, but we'd rather be greeted by the aroma of their downhome, authentic Mexican cooking instead of floor cleaner. The smell waned a bit as the restaurant stared getting full as the lunch rush started. Still, we would definitely come back!

A family member recalled this tiny Mexican eatery from over 10 years ago and recommended it while we were visiting Somerset. Was a little skeptical, but more than pleased and will both remember and recommend this restaurant. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was piping hot, flavorful, and presented nicely. We're used to New Mexico preparations, but were happy to enjoy a new style of chile rellano that was fresh and delicious. Give the beef burrito a try, but make sure it's the one with beef tips -- melt in your mouth tender! The servings were plentiful and we left completely satisfied in our bellies and our wallets. The only drawback was the margarita...really light on the tequila, but heavy on the sugary mix.

On my way back to Philadelphia w/ my girlfriend recently we decided to jump off the turnpike in Somerset (one of our favorite towns/areas along the PA Turnpike) & grab some Mexican. Plenty of parking, great prices (especially when considering the healthy portion sizes), awesome atmosphere, & exceptional service (both my girlfriend & I were taken aback by how friendly, polite, & accommodating the staff was.) also only about 20 miles from the Flight 93 Memorial. It wasn’t the best Mexican food I’ve ever had (that would actually be food I actually got in Mexico lol) but it was mad decent & certainly a far better option than most of the typical slop one comes across along the turnpike. Worth the stop! I got the beef tip quesadilla which was phenomenal & not an item I typically come across in most Mexican food joints…meat was seasoned perfectly & cooked just right! My only complaint was the rice that came w/ my combo that also included a decent enchilada. The rice wasn’t terrible but if you prefer it on the drier side this is your place! But that’s a preference issue moreso than a quality issue! What set this place apart was the staff that was extremely friendly & made me feel welcome! When you’re on a roadtrip especially on the PA Turnpike (that I’ve taken more times than I can count or remember as a Pennsylvania native) feeling welcome & not being treated like just another one of the many faces on the road goes a long way! If you’re looking for quality eats, prepared quickly, @ a more than reasonable price, accompanied by refreshing politeness & plenty of smiles (especially if you’re tired of the standard 4 or 5 fast food restaurants found @ every rest stop along the turnpike) hop off in Somerset & give this place a try! Plenty of hotels & other accommodations within walking distance should you need to stay overnight & especially if you decide to have one too many cervasas w/ your delicious meal! 10/10 I Highly recommend, would, & plan to...

After reading all those great reviews, we decided to try this place, since we were in the area. We love GOOD Mexican food, but despite what the other reviewers said, this was not at all “authentic,” but rather the typical low-end stuff you get in so many places. We had a dish of beef strips, which were tough, covered in what was actually the only decent thing we had, which was a tasty verde sauce. And of course, rice & refried beans... The other plate was the #22 combination with one each chile relleno, burrito, & taco. The chile relleno was 1/2 half a pepper (steamed?) with a heaping spoonful of finely ground beef. The burrito was a flour tortilla stuffed with a heaping spoonful of finely ground beef, and the hard shell taco was stuffed with (wanna guess?) .. if you said a heaping spoonful of finely ground beef, great job! Our waiter was busy prepping for the dinner hour (we came at 3:30) & was terse and disinterested until he delivered the check, when he suddenly morphed into Señor Jolly. I don’t want to diss any other reviewers, but we grew up out west & know what good/authentic Mexican is, & I’m sorry, but this ain’t it! They didn’t even have Coke! Coca Cola is HUGE in the culture, & many places offer “Mexican Coke” in bottles. This place beats that fast food place with the bell, but not by much. Maybe ok for a quick lunch, but not for an authentic Mexican food...

Worst Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered the #8 vegetarian. I thought it came with rice so I was surprised when it had beans, that was my mistake, the waiter did bring me rice although I said I didn't want it. I should have left after the first taste of the salsa, it tasted like tomato soup. The "salad" that was included was shredded lettuce, a blob of Guacamole, yuck, a blob of sour cream and a half slice of tomato, not what I would ever consider a salad. The mushroom and cheese quesadeilla had no cheese as far as I could see. I ate it only because I had a 2 hr drive home and I was hungry. Since I didn't want the beans but he gave me the rice I thought I could at least eat that, wrong, it had a weird taste, one bite was all I could stomach. The one thing I can say was good was the Pepsi. I wish I would have left before ordering because the entire 2...
