The floors are super dirty! They never mop! Burn holes were all over the comforters and there's burn marks on the tub in a non-smoking room! The room smells like mildew and so did the AC unit! The two people that do the room service that bring you toilet paper, towels, and new sheets both smell like they've never taken a bath! Probably why the rooms don't get clean! The pillows are black underneath the pillow case! If you're ever there peel back one of the pillowcases and look at the mold and blackness of the pillows! Which the lady accused us of taking one of their stanky pillows! The lady charges a $50 deposit! That you're not told about until you get to the place and try to check in! Because they plan on stealing it they'll come with any excuse to keep it! While I was up front getting my keys there was a couple who came in and they accused them of smoking in one of their non-smoking rooms and kept their $50 deposit they were upset! The two ladies up front laughed about it! The poor lady was about to cry I said she had worked all night to get the $50!Then the lady that works upfront started telling me that they let the cops come there and check everybody that they have a list that they give the cops of who are all staying there! The cops don't ask for it they just offer it! There was a guy getting arrested when I was checking in! Which is why they said that. They took great pleasure in seeing him get arrested. The main lady lives there and she rides around on some knee scooter so she doesn't have to do anything. She doesn't use the knee scooter up front that's just for show! This was our second room the first room we got the shower leaked all night long boiling hot water so there was steam flowing out of it and the noise was annoying the floors were dirty full of mud you couldn't even go barefooted the second one look like the floors were clean but looks can be deceiving I spilled a little bit of soda and I wiped it up and the freaking towel turned black I wiped the whole floor in there after that and it was nothing but black! I don't recommend this hotel I would rather go to the super 8 and deal with the roaches! Don't go to the Budget inn either that lady will try to extort you she has two guys over there that will try to jump you if she doesn't get the money she's requesting from you! Both the guys that lived there and work for the Budget inn are on methamphetamines! So you're pretty much screwed in this town! But super 8 is your best bet! Take my word for it at least they're nice and the rooms are clean. They just got problems with roaches. So please if you can help it avoid Red roof inn at all cost! We also saw roaches at this Red roof inn location and there was no phone in the room or coffee pot. They said they would get me a coffee pot but they never did! And the deal with the deposit is crazy we paid with a debit card. And they say for only locals they charge this and they want cash we didn't have cash but they ended up taking it off our debit card. Which we're fixing to check and see if they ever gave it back! I doubt they did so that's two nights! We probably lost $100! If we did I will pursue criminal charges against them for fraud!!!! Little did they know I'm like a secret shopper! I do reviews on all businesses whether they're...
Read moreThe good: My fiance and I stopped here on our way home from a trip to the smoky mountains. He had booked our room through an app and there ended up being a small issue with which room was booked. The woman at the front desk was helpful and accommodating. Although she was unable to change the bed size on her end she still gave us a room with a king bed at no additional cost or hassle.
The bad: Immediately upon entering the room there was a cockroach. Other recent reviews suggest that this has been an ongoing problem they have been working to remedy. I realize they can be difficult to eradicate and it was helpful that we only saw one but for obvious reasons it was quite unsettling. After a week of camping and a very sweaty 11 mile hike, (our camp shower broke on our final night which is why we decided to start the trek home and get a room) I was very much looking forward to a shower. The shower was not the cleanest. There were hairs stuck to the walls that were definitely not ours... after my shower I did a thorough inspection of the bed which I do in any hotel, regardless of cleanliness and definitely found little bits of dead roaches. Not sure if the sheets hadn't been cleaned or if the bug problem was that extensive that even the clean laundry ended up buggy. Lots of things in the room were broken, the safe, the ac unit. The chair had a large stain. Overall, the room definitely felt like it needed some freshening up. Given it was a quick one night stop on our way home and we had already been camping for a week we stayed the night but after our showers we took all of our belongings back to our vehicle for the night. Other reviews have suggested the front desk isn't accommodating for refunds so it just didn't seem worth taking any of these issues directly to them for a single night when it seems plenty of other unsatisfied customers have already brought these issues to their attention.
All in all, for one night after being hot, sweaty, tired, and camping out for a week it was doable but I would certainly warn anyone away from a longer stay and bring all of your things back...
Read moreWe reserved a handicapped room. Half of the electrical sockets didn't work and a pencil size stream of scolding hot water was flowing from shower head. Not a big deal ~ yet. When I used the bathroom, there was standing water on the bathroom floor from the shower. I went to office and spoke to night clerk who came to look at the shower head. When I asked to be moved due to the fall hazard for my husband, I was told there were no ground floor rooms, only second floor. My husband cannot climb stairs so that was out. The night clerk said he'd agree to refund our second night as I said the situation was unacceptable for us.
A bit later I went to the bathroom and the room was full of steam, the entire floor and counter wet by condensation. A heavier stream of water was coming out of shower head now still scalding hot. I laid down to try to sleep keeping the bathroom door shut. I couldn't sleep because now the bathroom vent couldn't keep up with the steam and it had filtered into the sleeping area. The mirror was fogged, the furniture damp, the tile floor wet from condensation. I went to office and got the clerk yet again. He came down and looked around and said he had said he agreed to refund our second night and I should have told him sooner about the shower issue whicŭh was now full force stream. He said there was nothing he could do and I said "and we can't sleep", at this point bedding was even damp. About 30 minutes later, the night clerk comes and says we can sleep in the room next door (I was told there was nothing available on the first floor several hours before!) So at 4:30AM we moved to the next room. Now with all this being said, could we have checked out when problems were first noticed? No, I cannot drive after dark and my husband doesn't drive period. I'm not familiar with that area; a family member is actively dying and we needed to be close to the hospital. Lastly, I do feel the night clerk Jay, did about the best he could with the exception that if the room next door was open, which it was, we should have been moved.
Sad time with horrible Red Roof...
