I don't normally write a review, but I did not feel valued as a Diamond Member at this property. We arrived around midnight on 9/22/23, w/ a reservation for 2 rooms. Received by Lela at the front desk. She was not very welcoming. I have traveled and stayed at Hilton Properties all throughout the world and usually greeted with a welcome and thanks for being a Hilton Diamond Member. I asked Lela if the hotel did anything special for Diamond Members and should immediately answered with, "What do you mean?" After I repeated myself and explained to her that usually at other Hilton Properties Diamond Members are given certain privileges, she pointed at a glass box in front of her (with displayed candy, water, and soda) and told me that I could pick out 2 items. After I told her that I wanted 2 bottles of water, she told me that I could not have the water because I elected to receive 250 Hilton Honors Points upon booking. I told her that I was not aware that I chose 250 HH points (which has little value) and that I wanted water instead and she insisted that I could not receive the 2 bottles of water because I already made my choice for a reward. This is the first time that I have been denied complimentary bottles of water upon check in at a Hilton Property as a Diamond Member. We're talking about maybe $1.50 for each bottle, that she couldn't give me. Ridiculous. As me party walked into the lobby, I could see her suspiciously looking over everyone in my group as if they had stolen something from the lobby. After she handed me 2 keys for each room. I requested an additional 3rd key for each room (since reservation was for 3 people in each room), she sighed and made it appear as if I was inconveniencing her. The last Hampton Inn that we stayed was in Amsterdam, so I thought we could give this SF location a try. Big mistake! Will not stay here again. The only thing that saved me from an even lower rating for this property was the adequate breakfast that...
Read moreI booked this room via app ‘Dayuse’. The intended time slot was for 9AM-9PM. I politely asked if there was availability to check in slightly early if they could accommodate. Note: I would have even been happy to pay a little extra. I was told that they were sold out. (No problem - I’d be happy to wait til 9AM) However, I was informed that they don’t even have housekeeping in and it would take them an additional 35-40 minutes to clean the room meaning I wasn’t going to be able to check into the room at the scheduled check in time.
I wasn’t offered any real pleasant customer service. No offer to hold my bags. No offer to have some breakfast while I wait. No offer for water. Etc. Instead it was suggested that I could try to book somewhere else, and that the app ‘Dayuse’ is never guaranteed. That’s strangle because I’ve never had this issue while using the app before. I use it often as a flight attendant.
After working all night long, I was disappointed from the service I received from the female desk agent. I won’t name drop her because the point isn’t to get someone in trouble. However, I do hope management can offer some further training on ways to deliver the same message, while still offering service to the guests to make them more comfortable for the delay and inconvenience.
Unfortunately this led me to find/book elsewhere where I’m now properly being accommodated. From someone in the service industry it’s all about finding ways to accommodate guests in any way you can offer comfort even if it’s not the ideal news to deliver. I was left upset from this experience to a point I felt necessary to leave a review. I would suggest booking a competitive hotel such as Doubletree, which was cheaper and more accommodating. Sorry Hampton Inn.
I will note that the hotel looked solid from the outside, the lobby, and that the breakfast at least...
Read moreThis is a great place for women to stay if they're traveling alone. I felt safe here. They have cameras EVERYWHERE! If you're flying in it's about 10 min from SFO in South San Francisco. It's close to the 101 South and North freeway. The 101 northbound takes you to the city. Which is about 10 min depending on where in the city your going. The hotel parking lot is outside. It's a little small. Parking is $14 daily. The lot is monitored by cameras. If you have an electric vehicle . They're are charging stations in front of the hotel. The staff is pleasant. There's a small area for breakfast and lounging with coffee, tea, water etc near the front desk.
There are cameras all over the hotel inside and out. I felt very safe walking around. I had a camera outside my room. There were many throughout the hallway. The room had an extra latch for security. The size of the room was amazing for the price. The room had a safe, microwave , mini refrigerator, a fold out bed, 2 desks, outlets to charge your phone in case you forget your charger . The room was super clean. The hotel itself is very clean. Well lit and nice. I liked that there was a lot of light. I was disappointed I couldn't get my room cleaned the next day. Housekeeping was gone for the day. Maybe, it was due to the holiday. Who knows but it wasn't that big of a deal. I'm not a fan of the bed. I did sleep well but I prefer a softer bed and lots of bedding . The bed isn't uncomfortable it just wasn't what I normally like for myself.
There was a business center located on my floor. Which was convenient . It was next to the ice machine. The room for the ice machine was huge. They keep brochures of attractions located there as well. Overall, it was a pleasant trip. There wasn't a lot of noise. I was able to sleep without being disturbed by...
