La Nueva Perla — Restaurant in South San Francisco

The food is not as good as it used to be, the price is higher and the portions are so small. They must have changed their cook because some of those dishes are not the same. It's not authentic Mexican. It taste like Rosarita beans and pork plate taste like your typical sauce in a can awful, just awful. How they stay in business I don't know it must be a front for something else. I do not recommend this place. It's a shame because this restaurant Used to be the best. I noticed some people put pictures of their fajitas. Wow the portion looked great but it normally does not look like that it must have been done for publicity or a friend. From the menu I wanted camarones al mojo de ajo and right under that a salmon with a mushroom chipotle sauce was listed. I asked the girl if she could ask the kitchen to combine both sauces on my shrimp to what she said that shrimp and salmon was different. I said I knew, that I only wanted both sauces combined on my shrimp. She still said it couldn’t be possible. I ordered the shrimp and let me tell you, it would of benefited from that extra sauce for it was too dry. The menudo we could not eat. Terrible service I was try to make and order by calling This place, because all this COVID-19 situation, I was from Seattle taking a nice vacations in San Francisco when I was looking for food I found this little place and when they answer the phone the lady hand up the phone them the 2nd time she ask me where are you calling from I was like what ? I was like my number is from Seattle and I am taking my vacations, whatever but she was very rude, asking me like what do you want, I don’t know whats wrong with this people we are trying to support small businesses and they act like terrible to costumers. Well I finally I found and other restaurant much better, I recommend you Las Pencas Restaurant 5 minutes away from this place, is amazing the food and the service excellent....
