Read moreOur stay was fine until the TV, and attached wood panel, fell off the wall onto my daughter in law and hit her on the upper back. No one had been touching the TV. Two people were sitting on the couch and my DIL was standing between the couch and TV. Luckily, my son saw the TV coming at her and tried to catch it, otherwise the injuries could have been worse. She was a bit banged up and shaken up, which hampered her enjoyment at the wedding we were attending.||The staff had a blame the victim mentality. They were dismissive. When they did not seem to understand the gravity of what could have happened if a child or elderly person had been under the TV. They did not show any sense of caring except the obligatory CYA offer of medical help. Krupa, the General Manager, also expressed judgement to me that my DIL decided to go to the wedding instead of getting immediate medical attention. ||When I stated that three screws at the top of the panel was not adequate to secure this item, Krupa told me that the screws were screwed into a cement wall, so were therefore safe. This was not true. The wall was made of drywall. ||I contacted the corporate office to complain about the staffs handling of this incident and also warn of a potential hazard in each of the rooms at the Southington Hotel. Customer Care Rep, Anna told me that she was escalating the matter and that a representative would be in touch in 48 hours. It has been 12 days, so I called the corporate office again. I was left on hold for 19 minutes and told that Arjut (?, not sure of proper spellng) from the Southington Hotel would call me tomorrow. That does not track with what Anna told me would happen and I doubt I will hear from anyone at this point. The risk is lost on them.||So please be careful if staying at this hotel. The staff and Holiday Inn Express Corporate does not seem concerned about your safety, but I would hate to have...

Unsecured and Dangerous Doors: Our emergency exit door in the hotel was left unlocked rigged open by drunks, posing a significant security risk to all guests. This was alarming and unacceptable for any hospitality establishment. Lack of Response from Hotel Staff: When I brought the unlocked doors and our safety concerns to the attention of the front desk, he said “sometimes they do that”. I expected management to take guest safety seriously — unfortunately, that was not the case. It seemed to be normal to the employee. Severe Nighttime Disturbances: Throughout the night, loud and visibly intoxicated individuals were yelling, cursing, and breaking glass bottles just outside the hotel. This went on for hours and made it nearly impossible to sleep. Doors slammed all night. The situation was both distressing and felt dangerous. Unsafe and Filthy Parking Lot: The next morning, the parking lot was strewn with broken bottles and garbage from the night before. I took it upon myself to report this mess to the staff. UNABLE TO WORK: The guest printer was out of service which then complicated both day and night. NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY: Management still had not called me from the Holiday Inn Express Southington to discuss the problems. They deflect these serious complaint to Hotels.com which is ludicrous because they do not work at the hotel.
We have requested a response from management regarding this complaint, along with information on what actions will be taken to address these serious concerns. We now put out this warning to others and hope for a reply. Oh and some of the the photos depict the nasty...
