Placed my order thru grubhub at 632pm. First, the pickup time was 650-700pm. As soon as I paid for the order, the pick up time changed to 745. I arrived to pick up my order, that part was super convenient and really the ONLY positive about the experience. So, over 1hour and 50 minutes late, my order is given to me, and upon inspection is ICE COLD. I call and the staff are absolutely rude and unapologetic. I tell them I want my order replaced and they tell me I have to go thru grub hub, have them refund my order and then reorder thru them. I say "I'm literally right now the street still making this phone call, can you please just remake my order. She tells me no. So I argue that its ridiculous I have to complain thru grubhub, just to have my order remade and if I have to do that I just won't reorder from them again, in fact they'll lose a customer completely. She was appallingly rude. I hung up and called right back. The girl who answered the phone apologized for that girl, told me they'll remake my order and it will be ready in 25 minutes. The girl came out, a brunette and super sweet. I immediately said "here feel this" and she said OH I believe you. At the same time she was giving someone else a replacement order. I asked if I could get a diet coke as I wait. She says SURE. She comes out with the diet coke and says "I have to charge u for this..." OK NO PROBLEm. And i already had the money ready in my hand to pay. I didnt feel entitled to anything except what I paid for.
I arrive at the restaurant and wait. A blond (maybe the manager) comes out to give me my replacement order. She didn't even apologize, just handed me the order. I said "here's my other order" She says "you can keep it" turns to walk away and I said "well at least feel it so you see I'm not lying..." she felt it, rolled her eyes and walked away. This entire situation made me lose my appetite. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I noticed a homeless and elderly gentleman in the middle of the parking lot exit. I said "hey dude are you hungry" he exclaimed "hell yes I am" I handed him the first order, which was cold and then handed him the freshly replaced order. He was MORE than happy.
He got 2 orders of rueban eggrolls (4), 2 orders of spinach artichoke dip, , 2 bags of tortilla chips, and 4 steak tacos and it made his night! It made my night too! I happily went across the street to Namaste and ordered some delicious Indian food. OH AND AFTER EXPLAINING THE ENTIRE SITUATION TO GRUBHUB including them replacing my order and the absolutly disgusting treatmentof my by the blond woman,, I not only received a full refund, but I also received a $25 gift card and a sincere apology. I order from grubhub almost daily and never complain! But I will NOT ever come back to wood n tap. I used to come a few times a month but this behavior...
Read moreI went for dinner and drinks with my wife and another couple. The service was really good. We got the Monster Nachos. They were not as good as when we get them in Newington. The chips were a little too crispy and the layering was not as good either. The burgers were pretty good. My wife got the fish taco. She really liked it. It was loaded more than the ones she has gotten in Newington. She also got the Mojito Salad (new for the spring menu) and said it was great. It did have a bit too much dressing. It would better if the dressing were on the side. Over all, it was a good night out to dinner. 4 out of 5 stars is good, but leaves some room for improvement.
Update; We were here again on 9/3/21 and our server was Chris (Christian). He did a great job and single handedly brought this place the elusive fifth star... The food was good as usual, but Chris was nothing shy of awesome. He has great work ethic and takes care of his customers above and beyond the average experience. If we needed something, Chris was there to realize the need and the response was quick and on the spot. I had the Baby Back Ribs and they were tasty. I asked Chris for some extra napkins and quickly had a few napkins and some wet wipes too... Thanks! Every restaurant needs more workers like Chris. Update (7/22/2022); We went here for drinks and appetizers. The Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls were much better here compared with Newington, but once again, I received a Blue Moon with NO Orange slice. Unacceptable and barbaric at best. Also, the Monster Nachos have gone up in price and I am seeing the layering suffer. Come on Wood N Tap, you were better than this... Our server, Adrianna was very nice, attentive, and did a good job. Update (4/14/2023): We went to this location again and I got the Classic Burger, w/o the condiments and it was good. I had the shoestring French Fries with it and a bowl of chili for starters- all was good. Kristin was our server. She was friendly and upbeat. FYI: They are on their...
Read moreVery pleased with this spot. Came on a Sunday for an early dinner (~430pm).
Ordered: Mini bison sliders with fries Mac and cheese flatbread Arugula salad Bison burger with parmesean tots Buffalo chicken wrap with fries Brownie with ice cream
The bison sliders are 4 for $17 , but it's a full size burger cut into 4, so if you can't decide between the burger or the sliders, they're the same price, its just a matter of how much extra bun you want. The bison patty is thick, cooked evenly, and nicely seasoned with a tiny bit of a kick to it. The sliders are served with an avocado aoili, cheese, and frizzled onions. They compliment the patty well.
My husband loved the parmesean tots. My only note would be to toss them in the parm seasoning so they're more thoroughly and evenly coated.
The Arugula salad had walnuts, grapes, apple, an apricot vinegarette, and 3 fried goat cheese balls. If i could order the fried goat cheese by itself i would. Deliciously salty and creamy, and went very well with the rest of the salad.
The Buffalo chicken wrap was good enough that my step kid ate the whole thing.
The mac and cheese flatbread was a 10/10 - very well seasoned mac, salty, a hint of spice, and the bacon and scallions balanced the flavors and textures. The Mac was cheesy but not bland at all. Would absolutely order this again.
Finally, the brownie was good. A bit crumbly but not dry. The addition of finely chopped almonds on it was a nice touch. The brownie itself has nuts in it as well so if you have allergies - skip this one.
They also have a creme brulee and i think a seasonal pistachio smashed cheesecake, so will have to try one of those next time we go. In hindsight the pistachio cheesecake probably would've been the more interesting dessert choice. The brownie wasn't bad though. As you'd expect the standard brownie sundae...
