USA Economy Lodge — Hotel in Spartanburg

I was displaced from my previous home and not having down payments, I tried finding somewhere affordable to stay while I look for a home I want to purchase. I am a medical professional who works over 40 hours a week. I'm not trying to stay in some run down hotel and I'm not trying to make anyone rich. Other hotels I called were over $1300 a month. Nope. Here they rent by the week so if its a problem neither party is tethered to a contract. I found this place by accident after having stayed in my car for 2 weeks. I went to check it out and thought I might stay a night. I've been here going on 2 weeks and I'm extremely pleased. Its been extremely quiet and clean. As I was walking in last night the patrol was telling people they had to move to their rooms or leave the property. My first thought was that I love sitting outside and would like to sit on my tailgate and enjoy the warm weather but I understand how easily this could get out of hand and why the need to eliminate this is. I'm not expecting anyone to clean up after me so I have went down for a broom and dustpan and other cleaning supplies and had no problem getting them. I don't feel the need to hang out in the laundry in the middle of the night so it closing at 11 is not a problem for me. In the future maybe they can add some picnic tables or benches out front but overall I've had a pleasant experience. The staff is polite and nice. I would recommend this place to anyone.

edit I've been here now a little over 3 months. The lady who works at night is so rude. I've seen her getting into yelling matches with numerous customers over petty stuff. When I've reported the pot smoke coming through my room to the point I felt high she was extremely ride telling me there was nothing she could do about it!! Any time you go to her with anything she gets irate and either argues with you or talks down to you like you're an idiot. I chalked it up to having a bad day at first but after numerous times it's not a bad day but a bad attitude. Apparently, it's okay to smoke in your room and burn holes all in the mattresses and the flammable covers but God forbid you try to cook a cheap meal or a pizza.

When they came in to do a bed bug test they exchanged our good sheets and bedding that we've been washing ourselves, for ones that had blood all over it and holes. I went down and complained and reluctantly, after arguing with the lady up front, the housekeeping came and changed it but only after she told them I had taken pictures of it .

The elevators are constantly having problems or out of order and they just put up notices not to allow more than a few...

I want to say my stay was/is Excellent, but that might be extreme. However in my mind/soul it was/is Excellent. Why do I say this? Because after having to spend the last several months in a homeless shelter, plus knowing the area, not to mention the unmentionables that addiction brings with it, I am 100% fine with the, "No Visitors After 7pm". Trust me! You wouldn't want the hotel, or any hotel, to be an open house after a certain hour. The staff here I can't find any fault with. In fact they have been down right NICE. I have lived in this area off and on since 1993, I will say that, "Because of the unknown, a lot of the reviews online, the out look of the building on the outside, I had a dread to ever have to stay in it. However, being in it at the moment, I must say that my fears aren't so bad, and it looks a whole lot better inside". At the moment I am paying for a single, but my room is a double. There is 2 twin beds, a large screen Tv with cable (maybe Satellite), free Wifi, a refrigerator, and Microwave. Is it a 3, 4, or 5 star motel? Perhaps not! Do I feel comfortable and content in my room? Yes! I do. Would I recommend this hotel to others? The answer would be, "Yes!", However it would be according to their personality type. If their the entitled, "The World Evolves Around Me" type I would have to say, "Probably Not!". Entitled, or those that think their Entitled, always are the first to write a bad Review Online and speak bad about a business. This business, or any business, doesn't need that type of headache. 5 1/2 years, back and forth,mY familY And i , went out of town family and I for 5 months, all the while I was focused my mind on going back there it's a nice environment it's peacefuL, as long as you don't deal with anybody there(p e r i o d)!!.. was wanting to either get an apartment house and or go back to the econo Lodge must I say I was surprised just two days ago called to speak to the supervisor manager etc, Jan, have decent repore, like I said I was surprised when I was calling her in advance to ask her to save a room for my family and I it is going to be permanent this time things are looking up and being better in our lives just took some waking up and disciplined mind frame on my behalf... otherwise she told me that no we can't come back I cannot come back and it's indefinite and that was because we took too long to get out yes that's happened on I say about 5-6 occasions, through the 5 and 1/2 years, also that it's indefinite I can't go back due to spit I was like what, that was beyond me I am just in shock never gave them an issue as far as anything that's absolutely awful and for me to get that surprise Awakening and and statement from her and indefinite that's Way beyond far beyond me I just pray about it because it's a shame that the place that gives me so much peace other than my heavenly Creator father who gives us every piece and life! how are heavenly creator of all things and beings and infinitely he blesses us all amen amen and amen amen...
