HIDDEN CHARGE ALERT! Despite this hotel has a very large parking lot like any other midlevel where you would expect parking to be included in the price of the room. This hotel, though, will charge you $3 per day for parking. THERE ARE NO SIGNS IN THE LOT INDICATING THAT THIS IS PAID PARKING, NOR ARE THERE ANY SIGNS IN THE LOBBY. This is a DECEPTIVE practice and they will not tell you about this charge unless you ask. I noticed this in a review and asked about it up front. which is when we were told that yes, they do charge for parking. Please don't take this charge out on the staff, obviously this is a decision from management who doesn't care about being deceptive to their customers, and the front desk staff was very helpful when we inquired about it.||Having said that, let's start with the good: All interactions with the front desk staff was professional and courteous. They were polite and responsive and resolved any of the concerns we had. Our room was clean and had a large bathroom with a large walk-in shower. And other than the despicable parking issue, there wasn't any serious red flags.||However, this hotel does not live up to the expectations I had of a Marriott property. First, our room (king bed) was unusually small for a mid-level brand, I've stayed in economy hotels which were much more spacious. The window had multiple fingerprints on it and there were places that the wallpaper would have benefited from being wiped down. Aesthetically, wallpaper was misaligned. Again, none of these are deal-breakers, but it felt like the owner/builder was more interested in cutting corners than providing a great customer experience. Our bed wasn't comfortable, but this is contingent on personal preferences. It wasn't old, worn or damaged, it just wasn't comfortable to us. A few more pillows would also be nice.||The swimming pool wasn't unusable but it was visually obvious that it was in need of a good cleaning and general maintenance. The pool appeared to lack circulation and the floor of the pool was discolored. Probably was still safe, but chemical treatment is only part of the answer.||Breakfast was mediocre at best. The cereal dispensers contained cereals that were different than the labeled product. Coffee (from airpot dispenser) tasted stale and old. And they close breakfast at 9:30 on a weekend. In better hotels, when they are preparing to close breakfast the host/hostess comes around to let everyone know. Not here. 9:28 and they were already taking stuff down. Would have loved the opportunity to grab a waffle (when I made my first trip, there were lots of people in line), but by 9:30 the irons were turned off and the mix was closed up. ||Aside from the parking issue, I would have given this hotel a strong "3" rating. But when you add that to everything else, it is clear that this hotel has earned a lower rating. It saddens me to rate a Marriott property less than a 4, but the hotel earned the rating which I provided. I do not recommend...
Read moreThe hotel itself is clean, new which is where the good part of the review ends. First off, as seen in the pictures, those are someone else's dirty socks on the beam in our room. You walk in and can't miss them. So not only is that disgusting, clearly nobody is dusting up there. The second picture is the channel guide..speaks for itself. We travel as a large group and I have staff I put up in rooms that require Credit Card auth forms. Hotel reservation was made without incident, but then the names on rooms got changed from my guests to mine. I called in to fix and asked for Auth Form (2nd time), was told reservation fixed and auth form sent. I filled it out, sent in and received confirmation that it was received. Called in the morning of check in to double check and was told by that woman that the room's were still assigned to me so she told me she fixed it, had the Auth form and check in for my staff member would be without distracttion or issue (because he would be arriving late). He checked in, gave a credit card for incidentals and then was charged the full room rate which shouldn't have happened. The next day I talked to the same woman, she explained that she didn't know what happened or why he was charged and said she would fix. A few hours later I came back to find that it had not been fixed, she began to try and tell me why but at that point I had no interest in listening and just walked away. The next day my staff members wife asked for late check out which they granted. The Monday following our stay I began an email exchange with the GM who offered me a credit for 1 night which was fine, was not looking for money, just some customer service and follow up. He then went on to say that they "gave me" late checkout and of 5pm and that typically there would have been a charge for that. My response was that they could have said "NO" to her and he cannot use that as negotiating tool to make up for poor customer service, dirty socks, etc. His next reply was that my staff member stole 3 pillows from his room! Wow, interesting to bring that up after all the problems and issues. Displayed to me that this person was desperate to find something to hold against me since his front desk staff and housekeeping staff were so poorly trained. In the end, other than a nice new hotel, there's pretty much no reason I would stay here or recommend this location to anyone. We have 100's of people that we send out in groups throughout the year (traveling sports teams) that will be using other facilities from...
Read moreMy husband and I booked a room in a King suite. Only my key card worked; his did not. We asked for a new key card for him. They had to do this a few times. Now his worked but mine did not. Our room had towels but only 1 washcloth for 2 people. You have to go to the front desk for clean towels but they had no wash cloths. Rooms are not cleaned and towels are not replaced during your stay probably due to Covid precautions. Breakfast on Saturday is available at 7AM. We arrived at 7:30AM but there were no eggs and the sausage was microwaved hard. You couldn't cut it with the plastic utensils available. After waiting at the front desk for a long time, housekeeping summoned someone so we could report they needed to replenish the breakfast items. The "hot water" for tea was room temperature. There were no bottles of water available in the hotel (complimentary or to purchase). They said they didn't get a water delivery. People refilled their personal water bottles at the water dispenser in the breakfast area by putting the nozzle in the mouth of the water bottle they just drank out of. Certainly not sanitary or Covid-safe. Therefore, we went to the store to buy water. There were 3 cereals available (all high in sugar). On a positive note, Lender bagels were individually packaged. There were a few yogurts available. There were also some apples. If I had to go to the front desk, often there was no one there and you could wait 20 minutes. I thought calling the front desk would be quicker but it would disconnect after about 20 rings and it was about 30-40 minutes before someone picked up. The front desk staff was in a room behind the front desk. Shouldn't they be manning the front desk? The hotel did not seem to be exceptionally busy so I was perplexed that staff was not readily available. We had a place to stay and there was very limited food available at breakfast time. I just expected the staff to be more attentive to their guests and have working key cards, suitable linens and breakfast available during the...
