If I could give zero stars, I would. I donāt even know where to begināthis was by far the worst dining experience Iāve had in a long time, and itās all because of the utter lack of customer service and the glacial pace at which they operate.
First of all, when we arrived, there was no sense of urgency from the staff. We were seated quickly enough, but after that, everything went downhill. We sat there for a full 15 minutes before anyone came to even acknowledge us. Iām not exaggerating when I say it took 15 minutes just for them to bring me a cup of coffee. FIFTEEN minutes. And thatās after I had to flag down a waiter to even get the attention of someone. Iām not even sure how itās possible to be that slow, especially considering that the restaurant wasnāt even full at that point.
But waitāthereās more. After my coffee finally arrived, my daughterās chocolate milk took another 5 minutes to get to the table. So, by the time we finally had our drinks, weād been sitting there for a solid 20 minutes, with no sign of any food or anyone checking in on us. To top it all off, the drinks were lukewarm and not even what weād ordered. My daughter had asked for a chocolate milk with extra chocolate syrup, but when it arrived, it barely had any chocolate flavor at all.
And the worst part? This was the slowest IHOP Iāve ever been toāby a mile. Iāve visited many IHOP locations over the years, but none of them were anywhere near as sluggish and disorganized as this one. There were at least three staff members standing around chatting in the corner while the customers were being neglected. The waitstaff was completely oblivious to the growing frustration from the few tables that were there, and it felt like we were completely invisible.
I donāt know what the issue is with this location, but itās clear that they need a major overhaul in terms of staffing and customer service. If you value your time and expect at least a minimal level of service, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. IHOP is usually a dependable choice for a quick breakfast, but this location has seriously missed the mark. I wonāt be coming back to this IHOP, and I suggest you avoid it too unless you have an extra hour to waste for a simple meal. Absolutely...

I asked for bacon to be replaced by more eggs and the extra eggs were missing ! my strawberry topping came in a small box kept inside a big box...what were they trying to do ? cheat me of strawberries ? condiment's and silverware were missing I called the restaurant multiple times to make sure they get my order right...but they made so many mistakes ! the french toast was super super dry and wasnt cooked properly...the bread wasn't even dipped into the egg in a lot of places ! they took $15 extra for crispy breakfast potatoes which u get in store with the meal...its part of the meal when u order in store ! but i had to order it on the side separately and the serving was so small...not even half a potato ! u get it in store ! u can see it in the image and the description on uber eats but they said I'll have to order separately which i did...so at least I should've gotten my money's worth...
I'd have given it no stars or negative stars if i could !
I am travelling and it was late at night... I had a few other options too which i hadn't tried before but i trusted IHOP as I've eaten it before but only in-store... But never again !
Update : The manager called me back after i left the review .. patiently heard and accepted full responsibility for the horrible service and said that i should've been given a full refund instead of what uber gave only for the missing order items... He then offered a $25 gift card which i accepted to pick up from the restaurant that day... The staff had no idea how to load a gift card with the money so after waiting for around 10-15 mins they gave me $25 cash instead... Thank you IHOP and i hope i have a better experience with...

So I wanted to take my Dad to breakfast so we went to ihop, we got seated right away, and after that sat for 15-20 mins with no acknowledgment what so ever, no ask for coffee/water nothing. Now Iāve working in the service industry a lot over the years so I always try to be understanding and see things from the other side. But there were 3 other tables in our section, they all were seen multiple times, and there were 2-3 servers for the section we were inā¦. Again I donāt understand how basic restaurant service could be that bad. Whatās interesting too is we had stayed away for years because my Mother and Father had that same experience years ago, so I donāt know whatās going on there but we will never come back to that location.
PS we drove to American Diner in West Reading after we walked out, and they were great! I think the server asked about drinks before we even sat down, so if you want breakfast/diner stuff around here avoid ihop is the moral of the story.
Update Iām writing this to respond to the generic weāre sorry hereās some free stuff messageā¦. I donāt care about any free stuff, and donāt want anything from you other than to be better. I donāt know if itās a training or environment issue but this has been an issue thatās happened to my father multiple times and this was the last straw visit. And this goes back years so I have zero faith anything will happen. I want to make sure if other people have the same experience they can see they are not alone, I have restrained myself a lot and made great effort to keep my language civil. So again Iāll say I donāt want anything from you other then...
