Hotel is easy to get in and out of. Parking lot is broken up into snug rows, so trailers or trucks may want to use the 2nd row or side parking options. Lobby is very nice; multiple fresh/free coffee options each morning. Saw cookies available for a brief moment one evening.
All staff we met were very nice and engaging. Hallway and elevators were clean and so forth. Digital key kept locking up - don't leave the app running. Wifi was hot, melted garbage. It must have a lot of filters on it or something because most of the apps I tried kept locking up unless I turned off wifi.
Room was quite large - we opted for a 2-bed room since we had a friend with us for one night. Bed isn't as soft as the one we have at home, and I realize that this will always be a personal preference. But, it was clean and we saw no sign of 'critters', trash, etc.
Having a couple extra chairs in the room was nice, along with the desk. A/C unit cycled all the time - even when in 'always on' mode. Semi distracting when you try to sleep. Fridge 'motor' was very loud, but it seemed to work fine.
Bathroom was clean. Shower drain needs attention (429) - it likely hasn't been cleaned out in years and I only imagine what's slowing down the water. There was zero lotion and body gel in the "securely attached to the wall" dispensers. I asked the desk to get us some refills and someone stopped by while we were gone and literally just left new containers - instead of refilling those that were attached to the wall. Something needs to be adjusted for the toilet paper rolls - they don't cycle properly and it simply forces you to tear a sheet at a time unless you somehow use two hands to forcibly roll the TP around - which is tricky to do while seated.
Price was solid for the area, which is mildly surprising for a Hilton Garden Inn, and that's why I chose it. 12 minutes to downtown, so that's nice. Several very good non-national-chain restaurants nearby as well. I'd probably...
Read moreI debated on leaving a review, but I thought it was fair to warn others if they are deciding on a hotel to stay in. While the staff(front office) were super helpful and accommodating, the hotel was lacking. It was defiantly outdated (small TVs and remotes without even a guide button, no USB ports anywhere). ALL 4 of my towels and the rug they leave in the rooms were covered with hair (like a man shaved and rubbed it into the towels...not a few long female hairs....100s!). Not sure how that passed inspection before placed in the room especially with the new covid cleaning standards. On the second night someone was placed in the adjoining room with us and they were smoking weed(which came right into our room with my daughter!!), screaming, cussing and literally fighting. I was not blaming the hotel for these peoples actions, but I was confused when the hotel was practically empty (I knew it was empty because when you walk down the halls you can see the covid cleaning stickers on all the doors) why they were placed right next to me. Also, while reading reviews its looks like smoking weed in this hotel is an ongoing problem. The cops did get involved and they were asked to leave...Around midnight!. We also ran out of toliet paper (we had a 3 night stay) and I went down to the front office to ask for more, they said they had no toliet paper and housekeeping wasn't in yet. She ended up giving me a half roll of TP she found. I just found it weird that a hotel doesn't have toliet paper at the front desk?? I would not stay here again. Not until they updated the hotel and standards. It was a cheap stay, and I guess you get what you pay for. It is also probably why the kids pick this place to stay...
Read moreAs a visually impaired woman, Jay, was ever so kind to help me navigate the hotel whenever i needed help without charging me. Brian was ever so empathetic and over the top attentive when U told him the air was not working. He corrected the problem as though it was an emergency😀😀. i mean the way he rushed to correct the problem made me think "where's the fire? or who got shot?. never experienced that at a hotel. As For Rachelle? every time i returned to the hotel after a meeting, Rachelle made me feel like i was coming home from a long hard day of work but Peace and rest was waiting for me at the Hilton She is so welcoming always asking me if i needed any thing and just being simply sweet. it made me to think"is she about to give me a facial or spa treatment or something? by the time i got to DeeDee (at check out) who was in a constant state of readiness to serve i thought "i'm not going to interact with her because she's gonna be dynamic like the others spoken of above, so i decided to just hang out in the lobby away from her . but that did not work because when other guest started coming in, just as i thought, she went above and beyond with a fervent zeal for servitude as well. i said to myself "am i in whoville"? these people are just simply put....over the top MAGNIFICENT at what they do.👍👍👍👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 iAny guest can tell personality was at the forefront of the hiring criteria when hiring these few. they are the diamonds of this hotel. Thank You...
